Haha... I keep seeing this on their Facebook page. It's nuts.

Last year they were advertising a christmas dinner in a tin for gamers who just didn't have time to actually cook a full dinner... It looked absolutely rank xD

Oh, GAME.

Released on the same day that they hiked the price of Nintendo Amiibo characters up by £3 to take advantage of Nintendo's ridiculous lack of supply foresight. Even though they were £2 more expensive than anywhere else anyway.

They need to focus on their actual customers, rather than putting their funds towards this utter rubbish.

Their prices are shocking for the most part, you'd think they would learn after going into administration once. Have noticed a few good prices during their pre-Xmas sales, but in general their pricing is always over that of most places by a good few pounds.

I avoid all stores this time of the year as much as I can.  WHy would I want to play something like that?  ;P

I think this is a pretty mainstream offering after the ridiculous goat and even bread simulators that pass as games these days.

Game's pricing is ridiculous though... would have thought their near death experience would have taught them something? Although as Hetty says they've had some pretty decent special offers on lately but that's the exception. I would miss them if they went though... it would be a sorry state of affairs if all we had was the likes of Tesco to buy from on the high street... I've always bought my consoles from Game.

I did too, until the stunt they tried to pull with the PS4. Amazon screwed up my preorder. Local GAME store is boasting about having PS4s in stock. I call them and reserve a solus one. Was very, very clear that I just wanted the console. "No problem!" they said. "Come on down!" they said.

So I turn up, and the only way they'll sell it to me is in a £600 bundle with a billion other things. Spoke to the manager - turns out it's company policy due to short stock. Entire chain had been told not to sell a PS4 without selling two extra games, a premium Blu-ray, extra controller, and God knows what else.

A few places tried similar d*ck moves too if I remember rightly - there was quite a furore when one particular online company did this but I can't recall who it was now. Luckily they've never done that to me, but then again I think I've always opted for some sort of bundle... with the PS4 it was the Killzone one with the extra pad and camera. If I was in your position I'd have probably told them to shove it if they refused to back down...

I really like the idea of this. I can enjoy shopping... if it's just me in the store and I know what I want, so I can dash in, compare and then buy and be out in 2 minutes. I hate, hate, HATE big crowds and being forced to use elbows and teeth to get what I need/get out with a full health bar.

This would help me train for the Christmas madness. I used to work in retail, but I'm still unprepared for it. Every year.

Christmas shopping is vastly overrated... I hate it. Thank god for the internet (well Amazon mostly). With the exception of cards and wrapping paper all my presents were bought online from the comfort of either my sofa or my office chair

If I can help it, that's how I plan on doing my shopping as well. The only way to remain sane.

Yeah I use Moonpig quite a lot, usually for birthdays though, have everyone's birthdays setup so I get emailed reminders lol. Not tried Hallmark though... might go have a look see what they have to offer.

I thought this was quite funny yesterday. They've jacked all their prices up by £5 across the board on Xbox One titles.

Then I walked across the road to CEX, who solely sell second-hand games.

Nearly fell down laughing when I saw that they want 1p more for a second-hand copy of GTA V than GAME do for an already-overpriced new one!

That sucks.  CEX overcharging is standard practice. It's to catch out the poor sods who trade in and take the credit option instead of the lower cash amount.

My lad was going to get WWE15 from CEX - £45 second hand!  It's £35 new on Shopto.net (but it seems like it's crap anyway)

Haha.. Oh my. This is why I only really buy games either in sales or from eBay... Everything is so massively overpriced. Part of me wonders if it's just playing on the fact that with two weeks to go til Xmas, if you still need to buy something you're getting to the point where it's pay what they're asking or not get it at all.

CEX are charging £42 for second hand MCC, I paid £44 for a brand new Limited Edition last week in another store :/

The darker, seedier side of Christmas unfortunately.

Even Amazon are at it... I buy a lot of stuff off the store so get the £50 Gift Cards... all year they've been £45 for a £50 online code. A couple of weeks ago they jumped up to £50. The physical cards have jumped up to £48 now too...

Kids toys are the same, I had a few presents saved in a wishlist and watched as the price slowly doubled over a 3 week period, going up a few quid every couple of days. Sickening really. Ended up buying the toys from Argos in the end...
