You know what? I've been really tempted to play some Disney Infinity 3.0 lately. I own the Xbox One version — not the Xbox 360 version shown in the image above — and it's still great fun to play as a huge Star Wars fan.
At the same time, I can't help but glance over to Steam and see the Disney Infinity 3.0 Gold Edition with all the characters and playsets that doesn't require me to hunt down individual models and then dust off the base and hook it up to my Xbox console. Truth be told, I don't think I've used my Disney Infinity base in well over five years now.
Those are just my personal circumstances, but I bet many Xbox fans are in the same boat with Disney Infinity, Skylanders, LEGO Dimensions and any other toys-to-life games that I might have forgotten about!

Guitar Hero and Rock Band obviously enter the conversation here as well. I keep coming across very cheap Guitar Hero Live guitars when I'm browsing various online marketplaces, as it was a very specific peripheral for only that game. The older Guitar Hero and Rock Band peripherals (as well as some of the newer ones like the Riffmaster) actually fetch quite a lot of money these days, so that's something to consider if you've got any of them gathering dust.
The Steel Batallion controller is surely the GOAT of all these peripherals though. Our friends over at Time Extension actually own one of these, and they've done a big deep dive into the making of the game that's well worth a read:
