inZOI was all the rage when it released for PC earlier this year - a new Sims-like game that received "Very Positive" reviews on Steam at the time, although those have dropped to a "Mostly Positive" rating in the months since.
Inevitably, there were questions from both Xbox and PlayStation fans about whether the game would end up on consoles, and as mentioned at the time, the inZOI team said it was "expected to be on consoles like PS5 and Xbox".
Then, earlier today, it was announced that inZOI is definitely coming to PS5 in 2026 (no release date yet though), but the Xbox release is "under consideration" and "not yet confirmed". Here's a look at the message and PS5 reveal:
"Our team is working hard to bring you the best possible experience on PS5. (An Xbox release is also under consideration, but not yet confirmed.)"
It's hard to know what they mean with this at first glance. Are they just implying that an Xbox announcement will come soon, but hasn't been fully sorted out yet? Are they saying that the PS5 version will essentially be a timed exclusive? Are they saying that they don't know whether it's worth porting the game to Xbox Series X|S at all?
We think it's probably just a case of figuring things out with Microsoft, although the marketing here suggests it may launch first on PS5 - which is a bit of a bummer for those who have been looking forward to it on Xbox.
It's still early days though, and who knows what'll come of this - we'll let you know when there's more info to share.
