I gave this one a lot of thought, actually, even before it showed up in my news feed. Aside from what everyone said regarding a physical drive, I would want not one, but FOUR things:
1) I want Microsoft to create new game studios focused on making Playstation Studios quality games, with story being the focus. Don't copy Playstation, but create independently great franchises that say "XBOX".
Keep the games we already have as they're fantastic IP's, such as Forza and Gears of War, but give us more story-driven franchises that keep us engrained in the game for a long time to come.
2) As much as I LOVE the XBOX controller (it's pretty close to perfect as it already is) I want to see more features like Playstation is offering. Not copy the features already there, but make new ones.
3) Create peripherals that are beautiful, practical, and useful. Think the Playstation Portal for XBOX, or an accessible controller that is as pretty to look at as the one Sony makes, is useful, and gives players a unique edge.
There are loads of things Microsoft can learn from Sony, and as I said, I don't want to see Microsoft copy Sony. I want Microsoft to create their own path forward with peripherals.
4) I want to see the consoles, moving forward, to release games entirely for separate systems. Instead of creating one game that can be played on all the consoles, have these studios remain exclusive to ONE console only. XBOX and Playstation can both do the same thing in pretty much the same way. Street Fighter should be released on ONE console only. Resident Evil, same thing. And so on. No game should be released across platforms. Give me a reason, a BIG reason, to commit to one console and one console only.
I know I'm giving a lot of information, and honestly any one of these things would be enough to seal the deal for me. All of these would absolutely convert me for life.
