Late to this but updated my barely used One X a few days ago. Went to play it today. "No signal" ... black screen. Tried a dozen HDMIs and 4 TVs. Nothing. When trying to boot into Troubleshoot Menu ... nothing, still black screen. It powers on when I use the "Troubleshoot Button Gesture" and I can use the controller to select something and if I press "A" I can hear a beep but no way to tell what im actually doing. Really tearing my hair out. Any advice would be most welcome.
Playing through it now and its a revelation! The graphical HD update and more importantly the convenience of modern controls make this incredible. Could play it in 4k in Mupen64 but having to finetune it to work with dual sticks was always a pain. Switching back and forth to the original is like night and day (quite literally, the old version in this rom is far darker than the N64 original). Great that people can experience this now ... deserves to be played and not trapped in licencing hell indefinitely.
Finished this tonight. 100%ed it. Adored it but boy was it buggy ... and thats on One X. Must be appalling on original Xbox One. Really dont think it should have been released in this state ... compared to Blind Forest which ran like a dream. It never destroyed my enjoyment completely but I expected a much better and smoother experience.
Wow... another one bites the dust!! Don't have a XOne but couldn't wait to come back from hol to download Inside for PC. Thought id come here to check out the review and .... BUST!!! Such a shame it seems that there seems to be little hope for these kinda sites.... my faves CVG, Nintendo O Magazine, N Gamer couldn't even sustain a heartbeat by going digital only! Sad that this successful industry only seems to support the Big Hitters sites these days!! If you had told me 5 years ago, I wouldn't be able to pop into Woolies to buy a Nintendo Mag, not a chance I would've believed you.
