Almost at 76k points now; just used a bunch this year for Forza headset/controller combo as well as GTAVI. Game Pass + Xbox & Bing app have really helped to rake in the rewards.
These shows are always a love/hate game in my heart. Bring on the new games! But... I'm still clearing backlog from a few years ago (Persona 3 Reload finally finished, and just started Indiana Jones and the Great Circle). Great time to be an Xbox gamer!
@HonestHick Great point! I'm looking forward to seeing how GTA 6 shows Naples/Fort Myers (lived there for a few years), and looking to wrangle some gators!
While I'm thankful for the price drop in GamePass, it's funny that they emphasize "not for Game Pass." When my first thought of CoD is Nicki Minaj, I realize the series may have drifted a bit.
@YeyoFairy Small spoiler, but if you're worried about rushing to complete Another Crab's Treasure, don't feel discouraged. There's a free "gun mode" in the menu that will get you properly equipped for any adversary!
@fatpunkslim If I could look past the fact I "only" paid $500 for the same hardware specs 5+ years ago, I could get behind "barely more than current prices." You're not wrong, but... did RAM-ageddon really jack prices almost double?
Beautiful machine, but does it come with a $200+ off voucher for Helix? /s
Aside from the normal Skyrim/GTAV(now VI) remake train, is there anything on the horizon for said new consoles (XBOX or PS)?
I didn't buy Switch 2 due to most advertised games being shinier Switch 1 games (only $10 upgrade each) or remakes. With the recent Halo being meh, Wolverine looking like a shinier X-Men Origins, and Fortnite/Roblox/CoD leading the way for most played games, I can't fathom any interest in new systems except for "gotta have new."
@Fiendish-Beaver I found this pretty easy once my one Halo Elite controller started getting stick drift. My fault for not going through MS Support, but I've been using the FH6 controller for a good part of this year.
@Weebleman While it's not perfect, Steam's idea comes to mind - one per valid Xbox account, must have X amount of hours played, and in good standing. It's not a perfect system, but I'll take going through loopholes any day versus watching an item sell out in 5min due to high-demand scalpers.
@Brigurugi As a father that deployed a lot, Play Anywhere was a good way to purchase a game for the home console and still be able to play it on my laptop while overseas. The children get the benefit of the games on the Xbox, and it's only one purchase for me versus non-PA which I would then buy again on Steam, as I didn't have access to the Xbox.
This series is a heartbreaker (recent news included). I have the 1.5/2.5 collection and KH3 for Steam, but I have a feeling I may be picking up the collection again for Xbox, especially if it is Play Anywhere. Guess KH3 just became my next play once I finish P3R.
I explained to my wife early on that I wouldn't "pay" for it, but I was able to pre-order the $100 via MS Points, and already back to almost 70k points now.
@SodaPop6548 Thank you! Reading this reminded me I have Rebirth on Steam (forgotten preorder). Had I know Persona 3 Reload was going to take my entire summer, I think I would've started FF7:Rebirth first.
While it wouldn't be announced now, I'm really hoping this becomes an "Xbox Play Anywhere" title. I love my Steam account, but it would be nice not having to buy again for PC.
I'm wondering how many people are looking forward to the game compared to how many people are looking forward to getting behind the tech (ex. Skyrim's main campaign was alright, but the modding scene is still lively today).
The real fun will be watching the mod community once this game hits PC!
I've been enjoying the FH6 controller and headset (thank you MS Reward points), but this just reminded me I have 2-3 different GoW controllers from the exclusive consoles in storage.
@TrevorP86 With the nostalgia craze, and a new Halo release, it seems like a great time for RT (which Burnie ended up reacquiring last year) to make a new RvB for current generations.
I know it's a longshot, but... if we're bringing back backwards compatability, can we also bring back the OG Rooster Teeth team with brand new Red vs. Blue episodes? Please???
As the cover picture, I can't help but wonder how I could begin to talk myself into a $600+ ($700+?) Xbox Series X collector's edition knowing my $400 Series X from '20 works just fine. And then I'm supposed to shift mentality and fork over $1000+ for a console that's the only place to play....???
Fun fact - no hardware requirements or upgrades needed for amazing storytelling. (")/
Ginormous pricing aside... I'm guessing there's a slim-to-none chance there will be an "Xbox 25th Anniversary" edition of Helix? The new limited Series X reveal looks amazing, but seems like overkill if the next gen is right around the corner.
@shiny-enzo "[Project Helix] can run all PC games and Xbox games, while the Steam Machine ironically can’t even run all Steam titles" <-- This is what holds me back from the Steam Machine. I can get behind the pricing due to rising hardware costs, but the hardware should be up to par. I couldn't imagine buying a new console at that price and not being able to play the current generation of games.
Looking forward to eventually picking this up. I did, however, find myself reinstalling Lego Batman 3: Beyond Gotham and Lego DC Super Villians from my backlog. Beyond Gotham is a blast!
Just as long as Fable doesn't end prior to an epic conclusion. I don't mind setting stories up for a sequel, but I dislike when a complete game has an unresolved ending because the expectation is the player will play the sequel.
I love what I'm seeing on here. Customized Game Pass is genius - I'd trade Fortnite Battle Pass for an included WoW subscription. The biggest one I would love to see is a family option. Any chance for me to let my kids put their wallets away and pull from my library is a bonus.
@ilyn I agree that an exclusive game subscription wouldn't seem like a great value to a player (I've missed out on a lot of the recent games), but I have found myself having fun with Fortnite with the included Season Passes that I would have passed on initially. At the same time, I know I always have to option to break from FN and try out new Game Pass games
One thing I've wanted for years (as an old Windows PC Destiny 2 player) is "Play Anywhere" to be the norm, and allow my two Windows (Xbox console/MicrosoftPC Games) libraries to combine. Depending on what's open in the house, I'll either pick up the Xbox controller or play on PC. Being able to have seamless saves is a blessing when having a big family that shares devices.
@jesse_dylan My thought was they would do this monthly for each Pixel Remaster, eventually landing around FFVII:Rebirth release for Xbox, and (possibly) releasing FFVII:Remake on GPU for a short term before Rebirth's release.
