@ilyn I lucked out and my wife found two 360 guitars by a wastebin minutes before rain would've destroyed them. Spent $30 on an adapter that works on both PC and Xbox, and minus some small drift, they work great. Time to tweak them to get ready for this!

Under $250 for the console with two controllers, and then I saw a 2025 Black Friday deal of $450 for the same Series S with one controller... Hesitant to see the Project Helix price

@kanedase7en Steam Deck/Machine has SteamOS running on many non-Steam systems... Maybe if Microsoft can design an OS... seems like a tall order ^_^

Quick update - Fortnite Crew pack only gives 800 V-Bucks a month instead of 1,000 as of a few months ago.

As my birthday month, this would be killer if they could squeeze in the autumn sale here. Final Fantasy Resonance, FFF7:Remake Trilogy Edition, and Crimson Desert have been on my radar for awhile. Combined with Game Pass releases... this year is stacked!

@badboidre Holy cow, I forgot I had this game. Attempted a playthrough earlier this month, and ate it hard in some tower in one of the first cities. I'm sure it may be great, but I couldn't get into it.

@BenIsJammin138 Ever since GTA3 on PC, I've always looked as these games as another potential sandbox. I'll still have fun with the core game, but I remember self-learning basic programming to replace a Bulldog mesh with a '98 Nissan. Even just changing the theater posters to the '01 Spider-man and Fifth Element posters was fun to drive through.

I don't know if I'll buy this immediately, but I may check it out if it hits a Christmas/Black Friday sale next year.

Just finished Diablo IV main campaign and jungle campaign (too early to remember name) this weekend. Looking forward to final expansion, and then back to Final Fantasy!

My question - does this massive file size include the DLC as well? I realize it won't be "released" until later, but we've seen data-miners pick up on this stuff early before.

I played WoW on Steam Deck for years with mapping addons. Blizzard games work absolutely fantastic with it! If Xbox decides to integrate WoW subscription into Game Pass Ultimate, I may find myself trying out WoW:F.

@FraserG I like the old idea of "choose your own." I would be fine without Day 1, but would like a cheaper World of Warcraft subscription cooked into GPU (similar to Fortnite's Crew Pass).

And if I could absorb my oldest son's account (Family Plan), it would definitely increase the Game Pass value in our household.

MGS Classic beat, couldn't get into Dragon's Dogma, Indiana Jones and Great Circle finished, and then went into NG drill weekend with BL4 free play days only for BlizzCon to sway me back into Diablo 4 for the remainder of the year >.< Fun weekend!

I've had Rebirth on Steam since release, but still haven't gotten to really play it. As much as I want to pull the trigger, probably getting the Xbox trilogy pack on a Christmas sale event next year if it happens. FF7:Remake was fun just for sassy Aerith

@Tasuki This actually worked surprisingly well a few years ago on my Steam Deck with Curseforge and Controller support mods. This year, I tried the new expansion, but ultimately cancelled subscription to catch up on the massive wave of new single player games.

I doubt it, but if this gets added to GPU... fuuuuuudge. Was hoping to let GPU expire in Jan, but this would be worth the investment.

I think Dec '26 is the last month of GP Ultimate for me. It's been fun, but it will be nice to give Fortnite a break, and really dig deeper into personal backlog. Looking forward to finishing "The Great Circle" this month (week?), but I've realized that I have most of the GP games and time to play isn't as big as it was years ago.

It's been fun GPU, but $20/month will be a nice save.

@BacklogBrad It's no coincedence that all three release pretty decent collector's edition consoles finally (Nintendo Zelda S2 announcing next week) AFTER prices on consoles increase again. Hoping this bubble breaks, but enjoying backlog in the meantime.

@badboidre With yesterday's news, if interested in the FF7:Remake trilogy, it may be a better deal to pay the $85 for the full trilogy (Revelation included). Remake and Rebirth are playable instantly after the "pre-order."

After doing further research, it looks like this only applies to Final Fantasy 7 Revelation - "In an effort to promote playing as the other characters, Xbox and Square Enix have teamed up to limit the usage of Cloud. Gamers on higher GP tiers are allotted more Cloud time because they still have to beat FFI-VI while they are on GP. More updates to follow."

@Coletrain While I'm not sure of the conversion, there's a physical Collector's Edition on SqEnix's official store for $350 w/Cloud, Sephiroth, Zack statue and Steelbook. Only comes with new game though.

I have Remake on Epic, Rebirth on Steam, but getting the trilogy on Xbox might not be a bad investment. Decisions, decisions... lol

@Millionski While I'll probably still stick to digital gaming, I do think my GPU account will retire once it ends in Jan 2027. Over the past few years, I've kept track of what I've played, and very few are GP only games. As much as I love a physical disc, it's nice being able to use "home console" to share games with my son overseas.

After watching years of "beat Elden Ring using (insert obscure object here)," I'm conviced any game can be made as easy or as difficult as the player would like.

We've had goldfish "play" Elden Ring and even beat Pokemon...

I'm at work, but as someone who works in the IT field, I feel obligated to go home and verify that my Xbox and the network is working... for educational purposes of course.

@badboidre Psycho Mantis owned me last night as I was playing on Steam Deck with no additional controller nearby. Thankfully after a few deaths, there's a decent failsafe ^_^

I'm excited to try this out, but... this means checking my attic for that dusty overly taped box from years ago marked "Games" and seeing what treasures I may be able to unlock. Time to dig out my Indy hat and whip and traverse the treacherous adventures above!

Almost at 76k points now; just used a bunch this year for Forza headset/controller combo as well as GTAVI. Game Pass + Xbox & Bing app have really helped to rake in the rewards.

These shows are always a love/hate game in my heart. Bring on the new games! But... I'm still clearing backlog from a few years ago (Persona 3 Reload finally finished, and just started Indiana Jones and the Great Circle). Great time to be an Xbox gamer!

While I'm thankful for the price drop in GamePass, it's funny that they emphasize "not for Game Pass." When my first thought of CoD is Nicki Minaj, I realize the series may have drifted a bit.

@YeyoFairy Small spoiler, but if you're worried about rushing to complete Another Crab's Treasure, don't feel discouraged. There's a free "gun mode" in the menu that will get you properly equipped for any adversary!

Aside from the normal Skyrim/GTAV(now VI) remake train, is there anything on the horizon for said new consoles (XBOX or PS)?

I didn't buy Switch 2 due to most advertised games being shinier Switch 1 games (only $10 upgrade each) or remakes. With the recent Halo being meh, Wolverine looking like a shinier X-Men Origins, and Fortnite/Roblox/CoD leading the way for most played games, I can't fathom any interest in new systems except for "gotta have new."
