@Kaloudz I read somewhere that the embargo lifts at 1pm EDT. But even then it's only for the first level of each game. I could be wrong though.

@theduckofdeath you may be right, but really what do you expect Xbox to do? I can't see them continuing with console exclusivity on all their games after spending $69 billion on ABK. Xbox needs to make it's money back.

I don't think Xbox is going to say "Welcome to Xbox, ABK. We just spent $69 billion on you and now we're going to drastically decrease the income from your games by restricting your games to Xbox and Game Pass while skipping PlayStation and Nintendo, the biggest consoles in the world."

I'm not sure why so many people hate the idea of Xbox first party games going multi-platform. I think it's a good strategy.

Xbox is now going to be making a lot of extra income off software sales on PlayStation. You know what Xbox can do with that increased revenue? Invest it in Game Pass to improve the service even more. Xbox fans should be happy about this.

My guess: Xbox first party games to be available day 1 on Game Pass. Then they will be releasing as full price games on PlayStation a few months after that.

Tomb Raider Remastered is a must play for me. Also, I know everyone is hating on the new Suicide Squad game but I want to get it. I played the Alpha and really liked it.

There's about 20 seconds of gameplay in the 3 minute "gameplay trailer". I wouldn't call this a gameplay deep dive.

It looks like it could be good though! I like the environments and the short glimpse of combat looks pretty cool.

Far Cry 6 and Goat Simulator 3 are two great games. Just pure chaotic fun.

It's not surprising. Can anyone give me one reason that Xbox should be my gaming platform over a PS5 or PC?
Microsoft recognizes that lots of gamers can't come up with an answer for that question so they are adjusting their business strategy to focus on software rather than hardware.

They just spent $69 billion. They're going to go all in shoving the content they just bought down their users' throats.

Edit: That being said, I have no problem with it. It can be easily and quickly skipped with just one button so it's really not intrusive.

No, I think "Next Gen" has arrived. Little to no loading times, quick resume features, most games are looking and feeling better than ever.

An example of a game that is truly "Next Gen" would be Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart. It wouldn't run properly on "Last Gen" consoles or lower end PCs. Digital Foundry has proven that.

Playing State of Emergency and NHL 2K3 with my friend on his original Xbox when we were 9 years old.

I bet it'll be a copy and paste of Nickelodeon Kart Racers, just with different characters and some new items.

I used to be excited for Kart Racers, but now there's just too many low-quality Kart Racers being released.

I think this was the first PS+ game I played on PS5. It's a really fun puzzle game. Not too easy, but not too hard. It's a must try for any puzzle game fan.

I played this on PS+ and had a lot of fun with it. I definitely recommend it to anyone who hasn't tried it yet.

@J_Mo_Money I also stated facts. More than one thing can be true. I'm not arguing your facts because what we both said aren't mutually exclusive.

We both made valid points, why can't we just leave it at that and not get defensive and start making assumptions about the other person? I'm not going to spend my time trying to make a stranger on the internet agree with me. It's okay if we disagree.

@J_Mo_Money how is games like Starfield, Hi-Fi Rush, and Redfall being taken off PlayStation (the console with the largest player base) give people more choice? I would think it gives people less choice since PlayStation is what most gamers have had in the past two generations.

I don't mind Phil Spencer, I just don't like all his hypocrisy. He says "We look forward to a future where players globally have more choice to play their favorite games." Meanwhile, the ABK deal is literally doing the exact opposite.

@Kaloudz Agreed, it's not a massive hike increase at all. Neither was PlayStation's. But that didn't stop people from being dramatic and bashing PS in the comments.

Personally, I don't find any of these price increases to be a big deal at all. PS+ and GamePass are both amazing deals. I'd even argue that paying $600-700 for a console like PS5 or XSX is a good deal, given the amount of enjoyment that it provides and the amount of time that is spent on the console over the years.

For me, personally, this Ubisoft showcase had more I'm interested in than the Xbox and PlayStation showcases combined.

@Tharsman I don't think that was surprising at all. The day the Bungie acquisition was announced they said that Bungie will be an independent subsidiary and remain a multiplatform studio following the acquisition. No broken promises or 10-year deals, just clear communication right off the bat.

The niche, hardcore gaming community seems so out of touch with the large general gaming population. The truth is that most gamers who watched the showcase, or will watch clips of it on YouTube, will associate these games with PlayStation now.
Xbox will also show off some third-party games at their showcase. It will have the same effect for the general gaming audience, but in Xbox's favour.
Showing off third party games is not a bad thing!

"Racing is a little chaotic and lacks nuance" is a pro for me, not a con.

This game looks like a lot of fun but it's not a game I'm willing to pay $90 CAD on. I was expecting it to be around $50 like Hot Wheels Unleashed was at launch.

@NintendoByNature E3 was great! It was always one of my most anticipated weeks of the year. PlayStation pulling out of E3 in 2019 really was the beginning of the end. RIP E3.

Among other similar quotes.

Kind of sounds like Phil is discouraged and is giving up.
Building great games most definitely will help things turn around. Games like Halo 5 and Redfall aren't going to help you.
Games like The Last of Us, God of War, Ghost of Tsushima, etc. are what have helped Sony turn it around after the PS3 disappointment.
Games like Zelda, Mario Odyssey, etc. are what have helped Nintendo turn it around after the WiiU disappointment.
Xbox needs great games to help them turn it around. Maybe Starfield can be the start of that, then Xbox can build off of that.

Oh yay, this deal now gets to drag out even longer and we all get to hear more and more about it..

Also, I can't believe the amount of people thinking that Microsoft will pull Xbox out of the gaming market if the deal doesn't go through. Those are just panic statements. I do not see that happening. They've been just fine during the last 22 years without the deal.

That being said, this is a game I've always been expecting that I would pick up when it's on sale for $20 and have mindless, stupid fun with it. Review scores don't influence my purchasing decisions, especially for games like this.

I can't wait for this! Definitely my most anticipated Xbox game.

@Trmn8r This is exactly what I say in my head every single time I think of this game. I'll be disappointed if they didn't somehow include a Chia Pet in the game.

I'm sure it will come to Xbox eventually. It's only a 12 person team in Montréal that made the game. It would make sense for them to first focus on the biggest platforms where they feel the game will succeed the most (PlayStation and PC) and then get it to other platforms later.

I forgot about this game. Looks like it could be fun. I'll definitely try it out.

@FenIsMightier That's a safe bet, for sure. I just had to buy God of War on Day 1 because of FOMO while seeing my friends playing it.

As long as you get your money's worth then it's not always a bad idea to buy at launch, like you did with Wild Hearts.

@FenIsMightier that's an example of why I avoid buying games close to launch now. NFS Unbound, Sonic Frontiers, and Gotham Knights are all recent examples of games that went on sale less than a month after release.
The last game I bought on Day 1 was God of War Ragnarok last year. There may be no games I end up buying Day 1 this year.
