@Damo the Ultimate 2 version of this controller desperately needs a Time Extension review, after the embarrassment that was the NintendoLife review. I wont bother repeating myself here but I made a couple comments there that i think sum it up 👍 given that the controller was clearly not designed for the Switch 2, I have to assume that even greenlighting that article was motivated by a relative dearth of Switch 2 news.
btw the implementation of the ultimate 2 with Steam Deck is the BEST I've ever seen, by far, and it's not even close. I got mine last week and I'm just elated! 😄 we would love to hear your thoughts on it in this context.
(in short, the steamdeck recognizes the controller specifically by name, and shows graphics of the exact controller in the options screen, it wakes the console instantly by lifting off the dock, the "extra buttons" are specifically each mappable to anything you could want including keyboard keys, mouse clicks, or macros, and the 8bd heart "glyph" appears in the UI where "home button" functions are displayed, and more.)
PS - NINETY DOLLARS for this controller? I think my Ult. 2 was 55 bucks! 😮

@Hayzink
thanks for clarifying! xbox and pc are the big blindspots for me, so it has been fun actually learning about videogames again with my steam deck 😊

"...its first wireless pad for Xbox"
its strange that the Ultimate 2 apparently doesnt work with Xbox, as the Steam Deck "recognizes" it as an Xbox controller in 2.4ghz "dongle mode." 🤔
(fwiw you get the features i mentioned in my first comment only in Bluetooth mode for whatever reason ✌️)
