I noticed the campaign barely had anything destructible, while multiplayer was ok for the most part, but it was more or less on rails so to speak, still nothing has topped the Bad Company destructible environment.

I'm guessing since they are numbered and limited, in a few years time you could probably make double back or possibly more if you chose to sell, it would look pretty sweet on a display though

Re: Review: Call of Duty: Ghosts (Xbox 360)

Great review Dave!

The only issue I had with the story is they are getting to "James Bondish" with it. When a story goes as far fetched as the space missions, I can't even say it's a it could happen theory, and that ruins it, for me at least. For a story, I know some will not agree, but I thought the first Modern Warfare story was amazing, especially when the White House was EMP'd. It was literally an OMG moment. I am hoping IW can bring that type of story back soon.

I will mention about the Squads which I thought might be quite crucial for some players. Squads replaced Special Ops and is more or less training for online in my opinion, once you stick it on veteran and start playing, all experience you rack up does actually goes towards your online player, so technically you could level up yourself locally as high as you want to go and as soon as you jump into your first online match, you are already experienced and won't be considered a "noob" anymore. It also helps you with experiencing all perks and kill streaks to truly determine what kind of player you want to be. When you play squads as well, it is an online session so every now and then you will get random people that will join in and they replace the AI on your team which I found quite amusing, but you can make it private as well. Overall, I thought Squads is actually a good addition to the game.

@DRL - Ah I wasn't referring to the player vs. player. What we all loved it for was the terrorist hunting. For the timeframe those games were created in, sometimes the AI was so incredibly smart whether the cover system protected you or not, but you are right, I didn't care much for the player vs. player matches.

Re: Gamescom 2013: Here Are The Confirmed Xbox One Launch Titles So Far

TheZeeMan

True, it's not just the launch titles but how they are both portraying their systems lead to MS instead of Sony. I'm probably in the minority but I do care about motion gaming. I prefer Kinect out of it all because it requires you to actually stand up and not sit on a couch waving a remote around. MS obviously isn't getting rid of it and are still trying to push it, yet on Sony's side I haven't heard anything about the Move or games or anything, and the Wii U I was just not impressed with. Secondly, I want integration with everything, being I'm an MS guy, I have a windows phone, so that integrates. I have a PC with Windows 8 so that integrates. I have a surface tablet and that integrates. All Sony has is the Vita (which don't get me wrong, I think it's marvelous technology and would love MS to come out with some kind of handheld) but that alone and their Apps for tablets/phones isn't enough to convince me. Lastly, it is the exclusives. I have no interest in really any of the Sony exclusives, except maybe for Gran Turismo but one game compared to the oodles of Xbox games that I have been playing for 12 years isn't enough either. I'm still expecting Sony to announce something big for PS4, but instead it's just indie games and a release date. I play 0 indie games on Xbox so I wouldn't start with either console. Possibly the PS4 may launch earlier, but that's still not enough. As the end draws near, Sony has not provoked me to choose their console at launch, they may do so in a year or two but that is then and this is now. That's just my 2 cents

Re: Gamescom 2013: Microsoft Announces Fable Legends for Xbox One

TheZeeMan

If it's setup like Defiance, even though are you online with other people you don't have to do anything with them. There are separate co-op missions and solo missions and you get to choose whatever you want to do. The way it was setup it actually worked fairly well. The only problem I ran into with it was server downtime for updates and maintenance for sometimes hours, that seems to be the kicker with always-online.

I think most games will be going this way to ease us into the digital future. As long as the servers and connection are stable, I don't see a big problem with it unless they try charging us monthly fees like the MMOs then that's a big deal. The open world online games seem interesting enough though. I believe The Crew and The Division are going to be like this as well.
