@munstahunta this game is perfectly playable, not early access, and i'm more than halfway through it.
I've only run into pretty noticeable lag in the most recent area i've done and it never flared up during combat, or got me killed in other ways. (To be fair the area i'm talking about has so much going on, so many hidden enemies, half of them have particle effects that float above them, and other things.
Yes it can be more well optimized but i don't feel like a playtester. That's like saying playing vanilla ds1 makes me a playtester. Game did not run the best back in the day, but it was great.
@SleeplessKnight no difficulty settings, it is more difficult than dark souls 1-3 and bloodborne imo. That doesn't make it unbearably hard but i also love these kinds of games.
If you are pretty competent with action games, especially the more fast paced ones like ninja gaiden or bayonetta and can play on the higher difficulties, then this game won't be too jarring for you.
There are loads of ways to get stronger that aren't just pumping your stats from leveling up, and most of it is learning the mechanics and how to deal good damage.
For instance, you can do a charged heavy attack on the back of medium/humanoid enemies and get a guaranteed backstab. Massive damage boost. Learning when you can do it on bosses will make things much easier for you. I have had major trouble on 1 boss though. It took a few hours worth of attempts.
If you try it and enjoy the way it plays (play defensively not always aggressively), if you get stuck i'd recommend looking up some build guides and stuff because there are for sure ways to make things easier in that way. Maybe a certain weapon or weapon skill does loads of damage or applies a certain status effect that does lots of damage.
