Steam deck is already it. It plays steam library native, it can use xbplay to stream from series x. I really have no idea what they can offer that the current handheld devices do not, so I will be happy to be surprised. If its just a series S in a new form factor that does not really get my attention.
@theduckofdeath I just started sea of stars on xbox remote - Quick resume is fantastic as I jump between games a lot and need to put the game down often. I am also playing games from xcloud like state of decay 2 and Forza horizon, it's a great experience totally seamless so far.
I currently use my steam deck with xbplay and it is a fantastic way to play all my xbox games in the garden or when the wife wants to watch one of them murder shows... I love the playing native games on the Deck but sometimes I just want it to work at high settings rather than try to wrangle a few more frames at low settings... A hybrid model would be best for me, exactly as already have...
I cancelled my gamepass ultimate sub last week, It has a huge value in the library that you can access but with the price increase it just isn't for me any more. The choice paralysis is real for me, and I found I would not give games their deserved value when they are all "free" in GP or GWG. When I pay for a game I am determined to really enjoy it to the fullest and I feel the game I have purchased has real value to me. So, I bought Aliens Dark Descent last night at full price and I am going to take my time and play my moneys worth out of it. The fact that the game will remain in my library as long as xbox is a thing is also pretty cool to me...
I seriously considered cancelling after Redfall, in NZ I pay $19.95 for this every month but I just haven't been getting the value that I expect... I bought and played all of Jedi Survivor, it was amazing and I feel I got my moneys worth there, so have just cancelled GP and will buy fewer games but will be more... discerning? I always seem to enjoy and appreciate games that I purchase a lot more than those I get for "free" so will see how this goes for a while.
