Re: Talking Point: Xbox Series S Owners, Are You Happy You Skipped Series X?

James64

@Member_the_game Well I didn't for either of those reasons. I haven't been in the Xbox eco system since the 360 days. And being honest I haven't missed it either with my PS4 catering for pretty much everything. I had a bad week at work and put one on my very account. At £250 it was worth the gamble. Thought it was a bit much buying a £450 system when I already have a PS5 too. I have to say I quite liked the idea of this smaller console though. Very much like American cars, can get the base model and have say 70% of the experience or so at a much more attractive price. Game pass was what attracted me for the most part. This system has pretty much converted me to more digital purchases too. Fast, easy and most games need massive updates these days anyway.

I haven't found the storage an issue... As I have exactly the same if not worse situation on my playstation. I tend to play a lot more indie titles on the Xbox so I have plenty of room. That being said I do understand it will only take two or 3 AAA / major tittles to fill it. ...but a lot of people will be fine playing a couple of titles and swapping them about.

Also an unexpected upside I didn't think of and others have mentioned it. It's a great portable console. I have a sweet like laptop bag designed for the console, leads and two controllers. I've taken it with me when I have been working away which I've never done with a console before. Also very easy taking it around friends etc.

Performance is great. Forza looks brilliant and so far from videos I really can't see a lot in it. Need to see it on my friends pc sometime soon. Other titles like gears I feel that next gen shine isn't quite there when seeing comparison videos. (spose it isn't next gen, but seems noticeable in this example).

@Resi32 Why would you use a guide? Lol it's a puzzle game. I think it took me 11/13 hours. Something like that my playstation reckons.

Massively enjoyed the story and gameplay.. so I wouldn't recommend a guide!

I did have one glitch that required me to look it up once. Was racking my brains and thought somethings not right... Turned out it wasn't lol. I think there was like a building that was supposed to have an open door but it just didn't trigger that happening. Other than that it was brilliant. Actually my favourite PS5 game so far.

Re: Talking Point: Did The Series X|S Bring You Back To Xbox? If So, How Come?

James64

So I bought a playstation 5 at launch. Being a long time playstation fan and pretty much all of my favorite games are on PS4. My pro console was worth a decent amount and I couldn't see the new console going down anytime soon so I took the plunge.

I haven't played a great amount of new games on it being honest, then or now. I had a bad week at work and the series s came back in stock around march on very so I put it on my account to spread the cost over the year. I was really intrigued by game pass but absolutely couldn't warrant spending series x money on a secondary console and a bit of a whim.

I figured final fantasy looked beautiful and that was running on old hardware (well mostly, on pro) and displayed at 1440p or something like that. Making me feel that I wouldn't be missing THAT much.

It was also quite novel having a lesser machine from launch, pretty sure that's never happened. Something I've always like with American cars. You can get a base model or spend all the $$$ but still get a somewhat similar experience.

It's so small and easy to move I've brought with me places I would have never have bothered with before. And the game pass £1 deal really sucked me in too. Right now it's well worth the £11 they are asking for. Whether or not that will always be my opinion we will have to wait and see.

I haven't had an Xbox since 360 because I remember Microsoft not wanting you to be able to resale games (something they have achieved now but with the option of sharing games and super quick loading etc you kind of have forgotten about).

That and their exclusive games for a long time mostly haven't appealed to me. Now however it's my most used console. Sony haven't released anything of interest to me lately and I'm just not interested in paying £70 for games.

My favorite experiences this gen so far have widely been games I wouldn't have bought usually. Trying them on game pass and if I love them that much, I've bought them anyway.

I'm sure some awesome exclusives will come on the playstation. But nothing yet, nothing worth risking £70 anyway. Next thing Xbox needs for me is to attract more of the Japanese developers.

Re: Poll: Of All The Xbox Games You Play, What Percentage Are Game Pass Titles?

James64

Have both a PS5 and a series s and beyond gamepass and ps+ I've bought this past year.. fatal frame maiden of blackwater, in the sale shantae and the seven sirens and just recently also in a sale the ff7 yuffie dlc. None of which I have played yet as I haven't been able to get off gamepass. 🤣 On my Xbox I've bought Forza horizon 3/4 + some dlc. Alan wake and the crew. Really enjoying a lot of indie stuff on Xbox. Covers most of my Xbox and gaming needs. Will probably buy some of them when they come off gamepass though.

Re: Talking Point: What's The First Game You'd Recommend Downloading On Xbox Game Pass?

James64

Um I would recommend the artful escape and pikuniku. Both titles I wouldn't have picked up otherwise and are brilliant. Neither are like super hard games or anything but both have their own fun little mechanics. So even if it's not something you would initially go for I think all can enjoy. Also they aren't the longest games in the world so can be finished in a weekend or so. Great stories and both very funny.

Another worthy mention would be Ai: the somnium files. Again something I totally wouldn't have picked up, and being honest still didn't look that great in the trailer but glad I gave it a go. Yet to finish it but I will. Like it's craziness and it's characters.

Enjoyed superluminal, puzzle game, great ending.

Of course Forza Horizon 5. Having a fantastic time with my friends.

Psychonauts 2 has been good what I've played of it. After finishing the first one very recently. Wouldn't recommend that so much as it does become a drag at points as much as I did enjoy parts of it.

As mentioned above Tetris effect if haven't already played on playstation like myself.

Loads to have fun with.
