@BAMozzy yeah thats an opinion but its an opinion a vast majority of people have. 1 was a good balance,2 had better combat but the story did in fact fell short compared to fable 1. Fable 3 was all about world building and exploration as thats what most of the story was you doing, gathering gold, buy upgrades, etc etc. Fable 2 had more combat you did more fighting in that game then 1 and 3 combined. Fable 1 focused on your character and the story,it was a way to introduce the world, thats the point of a first game of any series,it sets the world up,the character, the enemies it introduces you to the world. People complained about combat not being as intense and so 2 focused on that, people complained bout the world building and interaction in Fable 2 and so Fable 3 introduced that.
@BAMozzy fable 2 had better combat, but the open world and the story was far worse then the original, the 2nd focused more on combat then story and the 3rd focused more on the open world and exploration then the story or combat. Each had their own pros and cons, the first fable was a rounded game that had decent combat, amazing story and good open world interaction, the 2nd and 3rd just focused on the other aspects, the 4th that was supposed to be released was gonna include the best of all three games, the story, the combat and the open world/kingdom interaction of the 3rd one,it was supposed to be the absolute defining game of the series and unfortunately we never got it.
@Tenderkid that was explained due to a lot of reasons that had absolutely nothing to do with lionshead. They were promised more funding and support that thru never received causing the game to be what it was. He even repeatedly apologized about it,the whole studio did and even had several interviews explaining everything. Give them credit where its due, they explained the situation, still apologized for it and even gave further clarification for the players and fans.
