Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain Was Released Five Years Ago Today

I've loved every Metal Gear Solid game, and while I understand the concerns about the V's story, I think it adds a lot of much needed context to MGSIV's narrative and its characters.

The Truth Tapes specifically, I wish weren't tapes, but cutscenes. I'd have loved to see Zero's epiphany about the Boss's Legacy rendered in that Fox Engine. Playing MGS4, and seeing Big Boss have that same epiphany, and me knowing that had he just talked to Zero, had he had that opportunity, the GW AI would have never came into existence, and the Patriots would never have been such a huge threat to the world.
But Skullface had to interfere, and when Zero came to Big Boss, now with onset Alzheimer's, it was too late.
Big Boss was in a coma, and Big Boss's plans would already be set in motion.

Well, at least I can dream.
