This is one of next month's biggest games, launching September 3 for Xbox Series X|S and PC, with Xbox Play Anywhere support. Dawnwalker is being developed by Rebel Wolves, a studio made up of some former CD Projekt Red devs, and you can certainly see the similarities between this and The Witcher 3, which just so happens to be getting the remaster treatment a few weeks later.
Here's what the reviews are saying about The Blood Of Dawnwalker:
"The Blood of Dawnwalker is a game that lays its ambitions bare at the beginning, and one-by-one pays off all those ambitions in remarkable ways. It’s a game that grips you early on, and sinks its teeth into you more with every passing hour."
"The Blood of Dawnwalker is a fantastic RPG worthy of diving and sinking your fangs into again and again."
"The Blood of Dawnwalker deserves to be a new AAA mainstay, and I’d gladly join Coen on future ventures. Rebel Wolves’ debut outing is everything you could want from the former director of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, but it’s also something entirely new. Its time mechanic is risky - and a nightmare for completionists - but it adds a brilliant sense of urgency into the open-world. The Blood of Dawnwalker is all about consequence. Which quests should you tackle? As a human or a vampire? It’s entirely what you make of it, offering up a bold and engaging formula that I’d be glad to see walk away with 2026’s GOTY trophy."

"The Blood of Dawnwalker is a fantastic first outing from Rebel Wolves and the clear start of a franchise. It's full of smart ideas that have the making of another classic RPG franchise."
"The Blood of Dawnwalker isn't perfect by any means, but its attempts to merge The Witcher's grungy world with an intense time limit make it stand out from Geralt’s masterpiece. Its story is riveting, its characters are expertly written, and its combat combined with the 30-day time limit are utterly unique, making for a thrilling adventure that is as bloody as it is good fun."
"According to Rebel Wolves, The Blood of Dawnwalker is just the first instalment in a planned series. And honestly, that's what it feels like: a starting point. Fans of vampire fiction or choice-driven RPGs should still gel with Dawnwalker based on the strength of its world building, characters, and deliciously dark tones. But you'll need to stomach some of the most serviceable, yet frustratingly stunted gameplay I've encountered in quite some time."
