'Reach Out And We'll Help' - Xbox Sends Message To People Affected By Hacked Accounts

Last week, we covered a couple of stories about people who had been suffering from hacked Xbox / Microsoft accounts - one in Brazil where they'd apparently taken the company to court and won, and one in the United States where Xbox Support reached out to help them after they received major social media and wider media attention.

In regards to that most recent story, one of the criticisms was that it took hundreds of thousands of views and various stories in the press before Xbox Support stepped in, whereas other hacked users have struggled to get a resolution.

However, Xbox Support has been attempting to help people over the past few days, sending direct messages on social media with a request for further details from them:

After sending out a large number of replies, Xbox Support then shared a general follow-up message to everyone affected by "account recovery" issues, imploring them to "reach out" in order to obtain assistance.

Here's a look at the message, along with what they originally stated to the devastated fan last week:

At the very least, it's nice to see Xbox isn't ignoring this issue. We're not sure how closely the Microsoft and Xbox Support teams communicate with each other, but in any case it seems Xbox Support is attempting to step in and offer further assistance to those who are struggling to get anywhere with recovering their accounts.

Will it help? Who knows - we'll have to wait and see how people get on. If you ever find yourself in this boat though, it might be worth contacting Xbox Support via DM in the first instance, and hopefully you'll get your account back!
