The Coalition Reveals Campaign Length & Other New Details For Gears Of War: E-Day

Following the full reveal of Gears of War: E-Day at the Xbox Games Showcase a few days ago, the good folks over at IGN have been finding out more information about the game, including how long the campaign will be.

Let's start with that bit - The Coalition says that the campaign for Gears of War: E-Day will be around 14 hours, which is longer than any campaign the studio has ever built. It'll also include more collectibles than ever.

Here's what Creative Director Matt Searcy had to say about this to the outlet:

"Searcy said Gears of War: E-Day is "longer than any campaign [The Coalition has] built" at over 14 hours, with more collectibles than it's ever had before in a campaign. Of course, this includes the classic COG Tags."

Beyond this, there are a few other important new details - no generative AI has been used in creating the game, it'll feature both new and "fan favourite" characters and enemies, it's the "most lore-rich" title in the series, there are new and altered movement options, all four members of Bravo Squad are playable from the start, and the campaign remains linear but with "larger areas to explore".

And just in case you were wondering about a potential Gears 6, The Coalition apparently wouldn't comment on it:

"Myself and fellow Gears enthusiast Ryan McCaffrey found they wouldn't say anything definitive on the fate of Gears 6..."

There's a lot more information on most of these details over at IGN if you're interested, and we're bound to keep learning a lot more about Gears of War: E-Day leading up to its October launch. Not long to go now, folks!
