In the wee hours of this morning, we covered Xbox's latest financial report, which showed losses across multiple areas within the Xbox business. Hardware and content & services are both down in the last fiscal quarter, and whilst this is no doubt disappointing, the new Xbox boss has followed this up with some fighting talk.

Taking to social media after the report, Asha Sharma commented on the results, noting that "player and revenue growth has not yet met our ambition" at Xbox HQ. Sharma went on to say that the team has "work to do" to meet those ambitions.

Here's the full quote:

"Xbox earnings today. While we have made progress expanding the business and our margins, player and revenue growth has not yet met our ambition. We know we have work to do to earn every player today and into the future."

As we hinted at in our coverage on the main financial results, this doesn't really reflect on Asha Sharma's work yet, given her brief stint as Xbox boss so far. Whilst she's clearly disappointed in the news, it's all about the next few years in regards to Sharma, and whether she can turn this sort of result around in the mid-to-long term.

We'll throw a link to the main report article below, alongside some other recent content relating to the new Xbox boss.
