We've had a new Xbox first-party game announcement today! It's been revealed as part of Minecraft Live! that Minecraft Dungeons 2 will officially be coming to Xbox, PC, Switch and PS5 in Fall 2026, and it'll be available on Game Pass too.

Details are minimal on this one right now, but you can check out the trailer above along with a description below:

A hero’s work is never done! Disorder is brewing, and the world stands before a threat unlike any other. A new danger is growing in power, ready to descend upon the land and unleash mayhem. Return to the world of Minecraft Dungeons in an all new action RPG adventure, brimming with high stakes encounters, thrilling challenges, and never before seen locations, as you set out to save a world in crisis. Will you and your allies prevail against the forces of evil and save the day once more?

The first Minecraft Dungeons came out six years ago in 2020, and ended up proving pretty popular amongst the Minecraft fanbase. We also gave it a "Great" 8/10 score in our Pure Xbox review at the time:

"Minecraft Dungeons does an excellent job of taking the blocky world and characters that we all know and love from Minecraft and transplanting them into a light and breezy, kid-friendly action-RPG. The streamlined systems of character building and upgrading here are delightfully easy to engage with, levels are beautifully realised, and randomly generated slices of the overworld and the various mobs and bosses you come up against provide a fun challenge for up to four players to get stuck into. It may not be the most dark or difficult action RPG out there, but for newcomers to the genre, young kids or massive Minecraft fans, this one is an easy recommendation."

We'll obviously let you know when Minecraft Dungeons 2 gets a more specific release date later this year, and if you're interested, you can check out the full version of today's Minecraft Live! event via the video down below.
