GTA 6 is, for now anyway, set to launch for Xbox Series X|S this November - something that Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick has again reiterated this week as part of the company's latest financial results. There's still hope for the highly-anticipated title to come out this year, then, but it's Zelnick's comment on the game's marketing that gives us something new to cling onto.
As part of this same financial call (via IGN), the Take-Two CEO says that "Rockstar's launch marketing is set to begin this summer" — which means that for now at least, it looks as though the team is full-speed ahead on its release plans for November 2026. It also means that we might actually see some more in-depth footage of GTA 6 in just a few months' time.
"Our execution throughout Fiscal 2026 has been extraordinary and we are highly confident as we approach Fiscal 2027 – which promises to be groundbreaking for Take-Two and the entire entertainment industry – led by the November 19th release of Grand Theft Auto VI with Rockstar’s launch marketing set to begin this Summer."
While loads of screenshots, character bios and in-game locations were revealed last year as part of a major marketing beat, we still haven't seen any raw, uncut gameplay for GTA 6 just yet. Here's hoping that's coming very soon, then, ahead of a release that Zelnick is "feeling very good about" as things stand.
IGN followed up on that feeling, asking if this is any different to similar statements in the past. Here's what Zelnick had to say on that:
"Of course [it's different], because any time you're getting closer to marketing beats, you're obviously in a place where your confidence level is as high as it can be."
There's still a case for 'I'll believe it when I see it' with GTA 6 right now, but if this big marketing plan indeed kicks off in the summer, maybe, just maybe, this years-in-the-making sequel will finally see the light of day on November 19th, 2026.
