High On Life 2 Comparison Shows Difference Between Xbox Series X And Series S

This Friday marks the release of the long-awaited High on Life 2 across Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S and a bunch of other platforms, and it'll also be available day one with Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass.

You may have seen that the first reviews for High on Life 2 went live earlier today, and therefore we've also got some gameplay footage from both the Series X and Series S versions to compare. Today's footage is from The Games Tester on YouTube, who you may remember used to be called The Xbox Tester!

On Xbox Series X, High on Life 2 is shown to be running at a very smooth 60FPS, but it's speculated that its native resolution output (before upscaling) could be 1080p or lower. From our limited testing here at Pure Xbox, we've experienced good performance and decent-enough visuals, but the graphics haven't exactly blown us away either.

On Xbox Series S, The Games Tester mentions that High on Life 2 looks "really soft", but again it still looks fine enough to us, and the most important thing is that it's running at a mostly solid 60FPS with just a few drops here and there.

This is obviously just some very provisional testing, and we'll have to wait for the likes of Digital Foundry to do a deep dive on the visuals and performance, but you'll hopefully be able to enjoy High on Life 2 without any major issues in this area. We've also tried the game on Xbox Ally X, and have found a nice balance of the game looking good and running at up to 60FPS on all "Medium" settings at 720p with Temporal Super Resolution turned on.

It should be noted that some critics have pointed out technical issues with the game in their pre-release reviews (like crashes and softlocks), so just keep that in mind — it might be a bit buggy at launch, but we'll have to wait and see.

We'll leave you with both the Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S videos down below:
