Just like with the first game, Obsidian is working hard on Grounded 2 during its early access period, releasing a bunch of updates including the Toxic Tangle update that officially dropped yesterday.
You can see a trailer for that update up above, and here's a little synopsis for it:
"It's time to tangle with The Toxic Tangle in Grounded 2! Ominent’s experiments have taken a sour turn, and a strange new corruption is spreading across Brookhollow Park. Explore the new Garden biome and ride into danger on our new heavy-duty, tank-style mount: the Ladybug Buggy. Discover new creatures, armor, weapons, trinkets, building sets, and threats that may be more than they appear."
This is far from the only update we're going to be getting throughout the rest of early access though! When Toxic Tangle arrived last night, Obsidian also shared a brand-new roadmap revealing what's to come in the future.
There's a Playgrounds Update, a Spring Update, a Summer Update and a whole bunch of other "future plans" before Grounded 2 eventually leaves early access, so it sounds like it will remain an "Xbox Game Preview" title for all of 2026.
Here's a look at that big Grounded 2 early access roadmap:

With all of this in mind, it seems that Grounded 2 will probably remain an Xbox console exclusive this year, and then eventually make its way over to PS5 and Nintendo Switch when it reaches its 1.0 release. For what it's worth, the original Grounded hit early access in July of 2020 and took over two years to reach a 1.0 state in September 2022.
We'll be back when Grounded 2 gets its next major update, and don't forget that you can play it right now with Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass, or pick it up for the low price of just £24.99 / $29.99.
