If you're in the market for a premium Xbox mobile controller that works across both Android and iOS (iPhone 15 and above), you might be interested in the Backbone Pro: Xbox Edition, which has just been announced today.
This is a pretty darn expensive controller at £169.99 / $179.99, but it comes with loads of high-level features including both USB-C and bluetooth wireless connectivity options, ALPS thumbsticks, laser-etched textured grips, Hall Effect sticks and rear buttons. Plus, there's one month of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate in the package.
"Designed for Xbox, the Backbone Pro | Xbox Edition is an Xbox you can take anywhere. Play your favorite games on your phone, PC, tablet, laptop, smart TV and more, and switch between them instantly. No pairing menus. Just tap and play. Seamlessly integrated with the Backbone app, access your gaming library, cloud gaming, and remote play services come together in one unified experience.
Built with full-size ALPS thumbsticks, hall-effect triggers, laser-etched grips, rear buttons, and industry leading ergonomics, Pro delivers precision and comfort for long sessions. Connect wirelessly via Bluetooth with up to 40 hours of battery life or plug in with USB-C."
You may remember that the original Backbone One: Xbox Edition launched earlier this year, and reviewers had very positive things to say about it at the time. The Pro is more expensive than that version due to including two forms of connectivity rather than one, along with other features such as those aforementioned Hall Effect triggers.
Backbone Pro – Xbox Edition: All-new ergonomic design for comfort and precision, Bluetooth and hardwired play, full-size ALPS sticks, Hall Effect triggers, two customizable back buttons, profiles and remapping, and built in battery.
Backbone One – Xbox Edition: Ultra-mobile, hardwired plug-in design optimized for portability, classic inputs, and quick jump into the Xbox app on your mobile device, to access features including Xbox Cloud Gaming and Remote Play with the Xbox button. Compatible with USB-C devices only.
If you're interested in picking it up, the Backbone Pro: Xbox Edition is now available to purchase from various retailers including Xbox, Backbone and Amazon, and we'll leave you with some official images of the device down below.
