We're just about two weeks away from The Outer Worlds 2 at this point, and as the game's marketing cycle starts to ramp up, the team has dropped a new live action trailer that takes the mick out of sequels - and it's very tongue-in-cheek Obsidian.
As usual, we've chucked this trailer up above for you to take a look at here. We'll admit, there's not a load of new information to gleam from this - but it is quite funny, with its cheeky 'Big Sequel Energy' tagline and use of actor/comedian Ben Schwartz to prop up the whole thing.
"Before a sequel can be great, it must first be tested. Repeatedly, Infront of a group of complete strangers.
This is The Outer Worlds 2 Focus Group – where the “Head of Sequels” and his panel of volunteers bravely explore the boundaries of personal space, T-shirt cannons, and the inappropriate use of gift cards.
Some call it research. We call it Big Sequel Energy."
We know they're not directly related, but it is curious to see this sort of thing get the greenlight amidst everything going on with Xbox right now. The Outer Worlds likes to tear down corporations in its futuristic sci-fi world, but it is now a series that's being published by one. Fair play to all involved for sticking with this theme/message here in the sequel and its accompanying trailers!
Anyway, that aside, The Outer Worlds 2 hits Xbox Series X|S, PC and PS5 on October 29th - and it's available to preload right now! Oh, and finally, the Xbox and PC versions will of course be available in Game Pass Ultimate on day one.
