Like single-player story games? Like survival first-person shooters? In that case, Beneath might be something to keep an eye on, as it's just been announced to be releasing on October 28th for Xbox Series X and Series S.
The game is specifically described as a "Lovecraftian first-person survival horror adventure" that's being created by indie developer Camel 101 - you may have played one of their past titles known as Those Who Remain.
Interestingly, the press release mentions that Beneath is a "throwback to the golden era of PS3 and Xbox 360 classics", while also highlighting that it's an "unapologetically tough" game featuring "scarce ammo" and "merciless enemies".
As mentioned, Beneath will be available on October 28th, and it'll be releasing at the low price of just £13.59 / $16.59 which includes a 15% launch discount. And, if you're picking up the ROG Xbox Ally this week, there's a free demo for the game on Steam as part of the "Next Fest" - so you can basically try before you buy.
We'll leave more details and screenshots for Beneath down below.
Beneath delivers a Lovecraftian first-person survival horror adventure, blending pulse-pounding action, psychological tension, and atmospheric storytelling. Step into the boots of seasoned diver Noah Quinn as his routine expedition descends into chaos, trapping him beneath the ocean alongside an ancient, malevolent force. With supplies running low and nightmarish creatures closing in, Noah must confront grotesque mutations, encroaching madness, and a sinister conspiracy threatening humanity itself.
Beneath is an unapologetically tough single-player shooter from a micro-studio founded by two brothers. Scarce ammo, merciless enemies and a sense of the unknown combine in a story-driven campaign built for both veteran gamers and those seeking an old school experience.
