One of the games we mentioned in our "coming to Xbox next week" article on Saturday was Blood West, which is described as "an immersive stealth FPS" that's received "Very Positive" reviews on Steam since its launch back in 2023.
This game features open-ended worlds that'll take you around 20 hours to complete and 35 hours if you want to see everything they have to offer, and it challenges you to take on quests and stealthily dispose of the ghouls and monsters that roam its lands (or if you really want to, just go in all-guns blazing!).
Weird West legends meet eldritch horror in BLOOD WEST, an immersive stealth FPS. Become the Undead Gunslinger, doomed to roam the barren lands until he finds the means to purge their curse and free his soul. No, this isn’t your typical Wild West desperado redemption arc. This is a damnation arc.
The gameplay rewards the careful approach: scouting the area, stalking your enemies, and striking from the shadows. Can you figure out a way to clear a fort full of ghouls and monsters without raising an alarm? If sneaking around isn’t exactly your thing, or you feel that you have a power advantage over your enemies, you can always take the head-on approach and meet your enemies guns blazing. Blood West comes from the creators of the fan-favorite boomer shooter POSTAL: Brain Damaged, so much gratuitous fantasy violence and pixelated blood splatter is to be expected!
It's been mentioned that Blood West takes inspiration from the likes of Thief, Stalker, Hunt: Showdown and System Shock, and that's very intriguing considering we're big fans of all four of those games!
"Blood West is a stealth FPS inspired by the genre classics such as the Thief series (whose fans will be happy to hear the voice of Stephen Russell, the actor voicing the master-thief Garrett, returning here as the protagonist), S.T.A.L.K.E.R. games, or - from the contemporary catalog - Hunt: Showdown."
So, if you're interested in this one, Blood West will be available for Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S on Thursday, October 16th, and we believe the price will somewhere around £20.99 / $24.99.
