We've heard (and seen) for a while now that Xbox is building a new frontend for the ROG Xbox Ally handheld that's designed to mimic the user friendliness and low footprint of the Steam Deck, and it's not just for that device alone.
Yes, Team Xbox has been saying that this user interface will extend to more handheld PCs without elaborating on which specific devices - but now a spokesperson for the new Lenovo Legion Go 2 has confirmed it's coming to that system.
This was mentioned in a chat with The Verge last week, with spokesperson Jeff Witt mentioning that buyers will be able to switch the Legion Go 2 to Xbox's user interface at some point in spring 2026 (the device itself launches in October).
"Lenovo spokesperson Jeff Witt tells me buyers will be able to manually switch the handheld to Xbox FSE after it’s ready in the spring 2026 time frame, months after the Legion Go 2’s launch next month."
Of course, the ASUS ROG Xbox Ally will ship with what they're calling the "Xbox Full-Screen Experience" (otherwise known as Xbox FSE) on October 16th when it releases, so it'll probably be exclusive to the ROG Xbox Ally for a few months at least.
After that though, it sounds like you'll be able to take your pick on which device you want to use it with! The Legion Go 2 is shaping up very well if you've got the money to spare, packing a massive OLED screen, newly-sculpted Switch-like controllers, a mouse mode, 50% more battery and loads of other great features.
Your problem is that even the cheapest version of the Legion Go 2 starts at a whopping $1,099, and the Z2 Extreme version (which is the processor the ROG Xbox Ally X is packing) starts at $1,349.99. It looks like an absolutely amazing device - probably the best we've ever seen - but you'll have to pay a premium to get your hands on it.
