One of the games that's been getting a fair bit of attention following today's Xbox Tokyo Game Show 2025 event is Project Evilbane, which is a four-player PvE co-op title that's coming to Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S in 2027.
That's obviously quite a long way away, but the PC release will be in the second half of 2026, and Xbox has actually been hosting playtests for PC Insider members recently - one of them is still live across certain countries right now!
Here's the latest on those PC playtests:
UPDATE: September 19, 2025 2:00 PM PT (5:00 PM ET) Project EVILBANE Pre-Alpha Playtest has expanded its regions and will now be available to Xbox Insiders in Brazil, United Kingdom, Germany, and France.
UPDATE: August 31, 2025 7:00 PM PT (10:00 PM ET) – Project EVILBANE Pre-Alpha Playtest is being extended and will continue to be open until further notice. Space is still available so come join in the preview today!
If you're waiting for the Xbox release, it's obviously going to be a little while away, but fingers crossed we get invited to the playtest on console at some point as well. The game itself is described as a "dynamic and action-packed strategy-based experience" that can be played either solo or in co-op, and we'll throw more details about it below.
You can also check out some screenshots that we've grabbed from the Steam page. Let's have a look!
