Update []: Just to give you a heads up on this, EA has now changed the closure date on the website from March 16th to November 8th, 2025.

If you want to play any of these online one last time, you've only got a couple of months left to do so!

Original Story: We always like to bring you news of server closures when we hear of them, and it looks like EA has just planned another four shutdowns for March 2026 - all of them racing games from the Xbox 360 era.

This was pointed out by AnimeWanderer99 on Reddit, who advised that if you go to the "Online Services Shutdown" page on the EA website, you may or may not see these games being listed with a March 16, 2026 closure date.

The games are as follows:

  • Dirt Showdown (March 16, 2026)
  • Dirt 3 (March 16, 2026)
  • Grid Autosport (March 16, 2026)
  • Grid 2 (March 16, 2026)

Now, after doing a bit more digging, we've discovered that these four titles only appear for us if we use a specific version of the webpage URL - one that contains "?isLocalized=true" at the end - so they might not actually show for you.

That could suggest these servers are only being shut down in certain regions (seems unlikely though), or perhaps there's been a mistake and they'll survive. The thing that's making us doubt the news is that Switch (and PS4, etc.) is listed as a platform for these games, which they aren't actually available on! Still, as things stand, it's best to expect them to shut down on March 16th - and we'll let you know if hear otherwise.

Of course, these are old games now and we don't anticipate many people are still playing the Xbox 360 versions online, although keep in mind that all of them are backwards compatible for Xbox One, Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S.

Arguably the bigger loss is for Need for Speed: Rivals' servers, which we mentioned in our recent server closure article for September and October, with that game shutting down on October 7th specifically. That one is going to hurt the most out of all of these!
