Ninja Gaiden 4 is part of Microsoft's bumper first-party lineup for October 2025, and ahead of its Xbox Game Pass launch in just a few months' time, the team's console performance targets have been revealed.
On Xbox Series X, players will be able to pick between both 60FPS and 120FPS modes, depending on whether they prioritise graphics or high performance. Obviously, you'll need the right display hardware to be able to take advantage of the game's 120Hz option on Series X.
"The game has a 120 FPS high framerate mode, allowing Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5 players to exchange additional visual fidelity for a faster, more reactive gameplay experience."
Over on Xbox Series S, the game will ship with just the one 60FPS mode, with the 120Hz option being omitted from Microsoft's cheaper current-gen console. This should be no real surprise, but with the game targeting 60FPS as a baseline, Series S users will be getting a smooth and solid experience either way.
Overall, this sounds like a pretty similar setup to the recently released Ninja Gaiden 2 Black remaster, which also restricted its 120FPS mode to Xbox Series X. The remaster took some major sacrifices to get there as well, so we'll have to wait and see how Ninja Gaiden 4 stacks up on both Xbox machines later this year.
