In life, some things change, while some things stay the same - and one thing that's remained consistent in recent years is developer Illfonic's ability to pick up a famous horror IP and turn it into a video game. Next up on that list is Halloween: The Game, as iconic antagonist Mike Myers is the next killer to be tackled by the studio.
Yep, these are the same folks that brought us Friday the 13th: The Game, The Texas Chain Saw Massacre and Predator: Hunting Grounds - basically, they love translating big movie series' into multiplayer games. The good news with this Halloween adaptation is that there'll be some sort of single-player component too.
"Become the Boogeyman or fight against evil itself in Halloween, the latest singleplayer and multiplayer horror experience from IllFonic and GunInteractive."
As you can tell by the above trailer and its accompanying description, things are being kept pretty brief right now, so we're not 100% sure what this single-player mode will comprise of. If you cast your minds back to Friday the 13th, you could play that experience offline with bots instead of real players - and we'd expect something similar here rather than a full story campaign or anything.
For now we'll have to turn out the lights, cower behind the sofa and bide our time - Halloween: The Game is heading to Xbox Series X|S sometime in 2026.
