Battlefield 6 FAQ Reveals Multiple Performance Modes On Xbox Series X|S

We had to wait a while for concrete details on Battlefield 6, but they're well and truly here now as EA blows the doors off its upcoming AAA FPS. As part of that information blowout, we've got a big FAQ page to parse through now, including details on performance modes across Xbox Series X and S.

According to EA and Battlefield Studios, the console versions of BF6 will have "an option to choose between prioritizing game performance or image quality" on both Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5. The team hasn't specified exactly how these modes will perform just yet.

"Will Battlefield 6 have quality/performance modes?

Yes, there will be an option to choose between prioritizing game performance or image quality on both PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series S|X."

Heading over to Reddit does give us a better idea of what to expect though, even if the information is pulled from Battlefield Labs testing rather than the full console release. According to a user who's been a part of that testing program, the game's 'fidelity / image quality' mode targets 60FPS, while the other 'game performance' mode aims to get above those frame rates - with the right TV setup of course.

It's mentioned in that Reddit post that the Labs version of BF6 was missing the high performance mode on Xbox Series S, but EA and the team are seemingly aiming to add that in for launch, according to the game's FAQ. Speaking of launch, Battlefield 6 will arrive for Xbox consoles on October 10th, so we're just a few months away now from release.
