Xbox Game Pass Hit 'Sifu' Has Been A Big Success, But It Isn't Guaranteed A Sequel

Have you played Sifu on Xbox Game Pass yet? It's an awesome Kung Fu brawler from indie developer Sloclap, and it originally launched to fantastic reviews as a PC and PlayStation exclusive, racking up millions of sales along the way.

That doesn't mean it'll definitely get a sequel though. Sloclap just launched another major hit on Xbox Game Pass in the form of Rematch, and it seems like that game's going to be an even bigger success when all's said and done.

And, speaking in an interview with GamesRadar over the past few days, the team admitted that Sifu perhaps doesn't need a sequel - at least not right now. Instead, they'd rather focus on other things.

"We did a year and a half of post-launch support for Sifu... we felt that we'd really provided and kind of given everything we had on Sifu."

In the interview, creative director Pierre Tarno advised that "for the moment it was better to let [Sifu] rest" and how the studio has a "huge opportunity to pursue the creative projects that we are passionate about".

Nevertheless, he apologises to those who thought Sifu 2 was going to be the announcement when Rematch was first revealed, and pointed out that without Absolver and Sifu, they wouldn't have had the "experience" to make Rematch.

So, don't go expecting a sequel to Sifu anytime soon (if ever), but at least we've got the first game to enjoy on Xbox Game Pass! If you've played it, let us know what you think about the title down in the poll and the comments below.
