Ubisoft and Massive Entertainment have announced a new update for Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, and it contains a much-welcome third-person mode for the game on Xbox Series X|S.
Unfortunately, fans will have to wait until December 5th to go hands-on with this update, which also contains New Game+ and more fresh features. Still, at least we can have a look at the team's progress on third-person mode via the update trailer up above.
"Experience Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora from a new perspective: Third Person Mode, Game+, and more, available in the next game update on December 5."

This update is likely arriving to coincide with the next film in the series — Avatar: Fire and Ash — which lands just two weeks after the game's upcoming patch. December will be packed with Avatar goodness, then - great news for fans of the world-famous franchise.
Back in 2023, we reviewed Frontiers of Pandora and came away with mixed feelings on the experience. One of our major complaints back then was combat feeling a little clunky, so, here's hoping that switch to a third-person perspective can help smooth things over and make Ubisoft's Avatar game a more enjoyable experience here in 2025.
