The Life is Strange and Jusant developer Don't Nod announced a new Xbox Game Pass title at today's Xbox Games Showcase called Aphelion, and it's coming to the service at some point in 2026.
This is definitely looking pretty interesting so far, and the trailer suggests there's an element of horror to it as well - we were getting Alien vibes at one point! Anyway, here are a few more details on what to expect:
Aphelion is a cinematic third-person action-adventure set on the planet Persephone, an uncharted, frozen world. Stranded and isolated, you must survive the truly unknown, find each other, and complete the mission. Traverse stunning alien landscapes, avoid lurking threats, and discover the haunting secrets buried beneath the ice.

One of the highlights of the show. I love Don't Nod's output and Sci-Fi Adventures, definitely looking forward to this.
Not usually a fan of Don't Nod, but this didn't look too bad.
Feels like a sci fi Tomb raider vibe going on …. Looked incredibly cinematic
I think this might be best of show!! I’d like to experience this world!
I liked the first LiS game, and I think that's it.
This is exactly the kind of game I wouldn't buy but don't mind trying it on Game Pass.
Thank good, a janky walking sim, I mean there were just too many action packed cutting edge graphics games, so I am relieved we got this borefest, we wouldn't want to get too excited now would we
It's no Remember Me level intrigue as is just walking in sci-fi areas, it's not that great, but it's still interesting to see them do something other then Life is Strange after 10+ years.
So half good to see, half not that exciting.
I want a Remember Me type experience again and I have still to play a fair amount of it but glad I own it.
To me this gives off Karen (or however that Indie is spelt) vibes. Too much someone wanting to show off their hobbies or tell a story. Where is the GAME I came for.
How accessible or telling stories/showing visuals do we need to see come on.
Gameplay is always lacking in games and too much themes/boring symbolism I don't care for. I want mechanics not boring world scale and boring human stories I don't even care about.
I don't care what people love, just make a fictionally crazy game with whatever random fictional ideas, why is that so easy to say yet never happens. No wonder people are boring in creative spaces, they are so safe mind of creativity.
Art teachers are you limiting the way these creatives can think? Or are the ex students just not creative enough?
I don't care about someone's fascination for rock climbing, or space travel, prove to me mechanically it's interesting to be there in level design or character movesets. But they don't. They love to talk and not let us play it. Just talk/show visuals. Stop with style over substance games please game industry. It's boring.
Make a movie/book, but not a game if your going to do this.
Looks cool, big fan of Life is Strange
