007 First Light Gameplay Looks Absolutely Epic, And It Comes To Xbox Next Year

That looks grotesque IMO. Not for me at all. He looks like a right geek. It's like they mixed him up with the modern Q. I get that this is pre-00, but still, that just looks like a bog-standard action game with Bond slapped on it to me.

@Kaloudz that's odd because I think the complete opposite, despite not huge fan of the new look, this looks like my favorite James Bond game, that being 'Everything or Nothing', the trailer left me excited, especially because of all the vivid colours, so looking forward to this.

Looks dope. Hype initiated.

@GASEOUS I think it's just my preference mate. I just don't like the footage at all. It doesn't look all that impressive to me and as for Bond, he looks like a Weasley :/

You're way too quick and way too generous calling that gameplay.

Looks so bad. The guy doesn't even look like a suave Bond. He has a huge scar on his face as though he's Blofeld. The supporting cast aren't interesting. Disappointing.

@CaptainCluck I know right? Looks last gen too in places. Nothing about this particularly screams Bond to me. This could easily have been anything else...

I'll reserve all my judgement for the weekend but so far, I'm far from impressed. It's gross.

I really like bond films so looking forward to a new take. IO have good record and I think this looks great. My fave from the line up followed by pragmata

@CaptainCluck This is actually very accurate to the character. The books describe Bond as having a thin scar down his right cheek.

Obviously whether someone likes is subjective, but I was thrilled to see a little touch that makes it more faithful than the films.

This looks good, hopeful on the gameplay since it's the Hitman dev. 2026 seems sorted, GTA 6 and 007 seem like certain purchases for me.

Not feeling it at all, but it's too soon to dismiss altogether.

Some of the set pieces look like it could be a great game, but I'm really not feeling the Eton style Bond voice. I get that a young bond would be cocky, but not like prince charming from Shrek cocky

It looks like IO is trying to beat Amazon to the punch on who can make the cringiest adaptation of Bond… I’m getting the Uncharted movie vibes from this, down to the Tom Holland-esque miscast. Yikes.

Maybe I’m being a bit too harsh. At times he kinda looks like Fassbender… which I dunno, that’s a better archetypal fit. It’s still not the type of game I was expecting though. It only looks tangentially Bond… Could be a Alpha Protocol sequel for all I know.

I'm not sure about the look of bond yet, but this was the only game that I wanted to play from a story, game-play, the James Bond Licence/legacy and concept (era) - the whole package.

The other games (inc those not coming to Xbox) really did nothing for me and at best would be games I'd try if 'bored' and they were on sale or in a sub service.

The Character's look seemed an 'odd' choice to me when he was introduced as Bond - Even if it's his Origin to becoming 007, it still seems the wrong 'person'. It's like they've gone for Tom Holland when they needed Tom Hardy...

Have to be honest I’m surprised by some of the comments. This looks absolutely epic, Like proper amazing! Perhaps it’s because I’m a big Bond fan and it’s been so long since we’ve had an actual game but I’m seriously excited about this from watching that trailer. Graphics look unbelievable also, Hope it plays as good as it looks.

If the title was 'Uncharted', instead of '007', I would believe it...

@Techno92LFC I'm happy to be proven wrong, and we have quite a bit to see of it this weekend according to IO, but for me, that just looks so generic :/

I get it, it's Bond so the game (and the Trailer) needs action. I'm not seeing enough Hitman influences yet, but I'm still cautiously optimistic since I trust IOI as developer. Need so see some actual gameplay and hope it's closer to their previous games.

Also not a fan of Bonds face, way too generic and boring. But hey, if they "only" make a competent Bond game, that's enough for me, I liked many of the previous 3D outings.

I just wish we could go back the Goldeneye N64 mission structures and let the player do some actual figuring out. James Bond in the movies/books isn't shooting like a madman, so the cover shooter type of gameplay has always been the totally wrong move imho.

@Kaloudz Out of curiousity who is your Bond?

I think this game will land differently depending on the answer to that question. For me its either late Connery or Moore that I enjoyed the most. Dalton and Craig where good films but they played a more grounded realistic bond.

This game feel like the classic films with ridiculous scenes and cheesy lines, so I am pretty convinced so far that it should be good.

@Ilyn It's a toss up between late Connery and Brosnan for me. Couldn't stand Craig. Personally thought he was obnoxious and overrated and I spent half most his movies enjoying every time he got hit. Moore is close third to the aforementioned two.

I'm just not feeling this guy at all. Nor am I the trailer in general. 😕

@Kaloudz Thats fair enough man I had the exact same with MGS Delta. I loved the original game but the trailer for that just felt like a downgrade to the original. I am not sure if it was the visual style or the cut but it felt borderline ridiculous in places.

@Ilyn Ah see I've only ever played the MGS game with the white haired dude. That one that gets really weird at the end with all that matrix sort of thing. Never went back to the series after that but the one with the alligator on his head looked pretty cool. Is that the one you're talking about?

Pleased to see that it is fully licensed, (to kill ... sorry, couldn't resist) and has the classic theme music. Even has appropriate product placement! (Triumph, Landrover, Omega etc.).

Looks the real deal, and we know that technically, IO are brilliant at this type of genre.

@Kaloudz Yeah the whole metal gear series timeline is all over the place, but it almost needs to be that way for it all to make sense. It also doesn't help that the series features clones off the main character to add extra confusion in there.

@Paulbuck28 I think we get that this weekend but time will tell. It's a way out yet so a lot can change I guess.

@Ilyn I might have to give the series another spin. I like the character Snake (unrelated but I loved Escape from LA and New York) and the premise is interesting. I think maybe I entered at the wrong game.

@Kaloudz I would say the best order is to play them in release order, but you do have to accept that there is some wierdness.

I will always prefer a Pierce brosnon or Roger Moore type bond then that tosser or what Daniel Craig has turned him into lately!!
I like my bond movies nice and cheesy not the gritty borefest of the more modern ones!!
Hopefully the game is good though haha ✌️

@Ricky-Spanish No no, I'm 100% with you mate. Craig plays it far too seriously. Drunk here, angry there, bashful here, ruined there. It was like Bond - all stages of grief. Doesn't help that he's married to my childhood crush either. Lol.

@Titntin In fairness the game looks really really good it looks more a old school bond story aswell the gun gameplay is giving me a kind of quantum break vibes for some reason!!
