Ahh, it's almost Xbox Games Showcase time, which means we're going to see lots of rumours and speculation on what Microsoft might be preparing to show as part of its 2025 event. To that end, Windows Central reporter Jez Corden has just put out a massive predictions piece ahead of next month's show - and while lots of this is educated guesswork from the Xbox reporter, there are a few points worth taking an extra look at.
One of those is a tidbit on Rare's Everwild; its successor to 2018's Sea Of Thieves. There's no confirmation that Everwild will show up next month, but Corden does give us an update on what he's heard about the title recently. Here's what he had to say on the matter:
"[...] my most recent inquiries suggested that the game is now on track, and has strong confidence from Microsoft's producers. We could potentially see Everwild at this show."
The information provided here is definitely vague, but nonetheless, this is good to hear and we do hope that Everwild appears at the Xbox Games Showcase 2025. This writer actually remembers the game's reveal way back at X019 in London, so, it's about time we saw a bit more of Rare's next shared-world experience in action.
Before closing out here, Corden does mention in his piece that collectively, his list is "based on strong rumors I've heard, things I know to be true, coupled with some personal hopes and dreams." With Everwild specifically, the reporter mentioned that he'd recently enquired about the title, so we thought it was worth singling out - but it's best not to take the full predictions list as gospel!
