PSA: Xbox Game Pass Gets Another Huge Day One Release This Week

Pushing aside Bethesda's seemingly imminent Oblivion remaster for a moment here, we probably shouldn't forget about another major title coming to Xbox Game Pass this week. Yep, we're mere days away from Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 hitting the XGP library - and we genuinely can't wait to see how this one lands with the community later this week.

Since the game's announcement at last year's Xbox Summer Showcase, we've seen so much hype for this upcoming turn-based RPG, so much so that it's become one of our most-anticipated games for the first half of 2025! If you need a little more convincing about this one, we'll throw a very recent trailer for the game down below - alongside a brief introduction to this week's big Xbox Game Pass release to get a flavour of what's to come.

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 (Series X|S, PC) - April 24

"Lead the members of Expedition 33 on their quest to destroy the Paintress so that she can never paint death again. Explore a world of wonders inspired by Belle Époque France and battle unique enemies in this turn-based RPG with real-time mechanics.

In this evolution of JRPGs, real-time actions enhance the heart of turn-based combat. Craft unique builds for your Expeditioners that fit your playstyle via gear, stats, skills, and character synergies. Open an active dimension in combat - dodge, parry, and counter in real time, chain combos by mastering attack rhythms, and target enemy weak points using a free aim system."
