Today, developer Bugbear has dropped an update on Wreckfest 2; its carnage-fueled racer that's bound for Xbox Series X and S consoles. The unfortunate news is that the game will release first on PC via Steam Early Access in March, but we have got a new trailer to feast our eyes on - which you can catch up above.

As we just mentioned, the game is still being developed for current-gen Xbox consoles, but those versions will seemingly release sometime after PC early access. Here's what the team had to say about its community-driven approach with Wreckfest 2:

"Forget the shiny supercars - In Wreckfest 2, the rides are old, rusty, dented, and patched together. As Early Access progresses, you'll be able to build the banger of your dreams and transform your battered ride into a wrecking machine!

New cars and other vehicles will be added as the game evolves. From day one, Wreckfest 2 will be shaped by your feedback. We're eager to create the greatest demolition derby-style game of all time. Ready to take the wheel?"

Wreckfest 2 was first unveiled to the world last summer, with the team "rebuilding its true-to-life physics simulation engine" to deliver what's hoped to be the absolute top dog in car-crashing vehicular mayhem. It's all looking very good from what we've seen so far - and we're keen to see how the game develops during its early access phase.

If you're chomping at the bit to get slamming into other cars on Xbox, well, the first Wreckfest is still an Xbox Game Pass title, so that's an option there for XGP subscribers. It's a few years old now, but Wreckfest 1 will serve as a great taster if you're interested in this chaotic racing sequel from the THQ Nordic studio.
