Update (Thu 7th Mar, 2024): It's been a month since we first published this story, and now Valiant Hearts: Coming Home is officially available on Xbox! You can grab it for £12.99 / $14.99, or play it as part of the Ubisoft Plus library.

There's also a new trailer to mark the Xbox release, which you can watch at the top of this article.

Original story (Tue 6th Feb, 2024): Nearly 10 years on from Valiant Hearts: The Great War bringing its heartfelt 2D adventure to Xbox back in summer 2014, Ubisoft seems to be working on bringing the sequel over to console as well.

Released in February 2023 as a Netflix exclusive title, Valiant Hears: Coming Home finally delivered its much-awaited follow-up story to players last year. It seems as though Coming Home had a year of Netflix exclusivity then - at least according to a new Brazilian ratings board post (thanks, VGC).

The new rating lists Xbox One, PS4 and Nintendo Switch versions of Valiant Hearts: Coming Home - all set for a 2024 launch. There's no specific date attached to the rating right now, but given that this month marks one year of Netflix exclusivity, we'd expect it to come to other platforms very soon.

We'd not heard too much about this sequel given that it was never announced for Xbox, but the original game was fantastic and we're very glad to see Coming Home seemingly on its way as well. Here's what to expect from Ubisoft's inbound Valiant Hearts follow-up:

"Set during World War I, Valiant Hearts: Coming Home is a dramatic narrative game that follows four characters in a story about friendship, survival, and sacrifice as they deal with the overwhelming impact of war.

The game depicts part of the story of the Harlem Hellfighters, the first African-American infantry unit to fight in World War I. Like its predecessor, the gameplay features a mix of exploration, puzzles, and action."
