Palworld Server Costs May Explain Why Xbox Is Helping Out With Pocketpair's Game Pass Hit

Last week, Xbox provided an update on the mega-successful Palworld and how the team was helping out with the Game Pass phenomenon - and a new post from the developer's CEO explains why this may be necessary.

Taking to Twitter, Pocketpair's Takuro Mizobe joked about the server costs for Palworld, and how the team could "go bankrupt" by keeping the servers running.

The tweet roughly translates to "Wait, maybe we'll go bankrupt due to server fees?", and the quoted figure puts Palworld's running costs at around $470,000 per month. Given the astronomical success of the title, Pocketpair is joking around here, but still, that's a lot of cash to be pumping into keeping this game running.

In that update from Team Xbox last week, the team committed to providing support for Palworld dedicated servers, so Microsoft is clearly backing this thing after its huge Xbox Game Pass launch. And, it sounds right to do so given these running costs!

In the meantime, if you'd like to read about what was included in Palworld's latest Xbox update, we shared the team's list of patch notes last week. Check them out down below!
