We recently put Grand Theft Auto V on our list of games that might leave Xbox Game Pass in January 2024 due to how short-lived its Game Pass stays have been in the past, but it could actually be departing even sooner than that.
Xbox users in various countries are now starting to receive an official notification that lists December 31st, 2023 as the day in which GTA V will be removed from the service. Here's a look at what it's saying:
At the time of writing, we haven't come across this ourselves as of yet, nor is GTA V listed in the "Leaving Soon" section of the Xbox Game Pass app, but it nevertheless seems likely that it'll be leaving in the near future.
We'll keep an eye out for even more official confirmation from Microsoft over the next few hours / days, and don't forget that GTA V is also discounted in the big Xbox Countdown Sale right now if you want to buy the game permanently.
