Today marks the 22nd anniversary of the original Xbox's launch, and therefore we're once again thinking about this incredible bit of home video footage from YouTuber My Retro Life which first surfaced a few years ago.
In the video, you can see Tyler of My Retro Life opening up the original Xbox on November 15th, 2001 alongside his dad, revealing his heartwarming reaction to seeing the console boot up for the very first time.
Over the past few years, My Retro Life has racked up millions of views on this video, although millions more appear to have been coming from TikTok accounts that have been using it without crediting the channel. Therefore, if you do see this footage on another account, we know Tyler would appreciate it if you mentioned who the real creator is!
For us here at Pure Xbox, we had a small part in "breaking" this footage when it was first uploaded a few years ago, so we feel particularly connected to it - and November 15th is always a great excuse to watch it again. Enjoy!
