As if you needed another amazing game to dip into this September, Cyberpunk 2077's huge Phantom Liberty expansion seems to be living up to the all the hype so far (and then some!). These are some fantastic reviews so far.

We're fully in agreement with this at Pure Xbox by the way, giving it an "Excellent" 9/10 in our review and stating that Cyberpunk 2077 is now a "deep and addictive action-RPG that can sit alongside The Witcher 3 as one of the greats".

Below, we've picked out some other Phantom Liberty reviews we've found across the web:

GameSpot (10/10)

"Phantom Liberty is Cyberpunk 2077 at its best. CD Projekt Red has taken the lessons from the original release and focused on the parts that mattered most to deliver a thrilling and impactful experience that doesn't overstay its welcome."

Pure Xbox (9/10)

"Cyberpunk 2077 in its 2.0 form and with Phantom Liberty finally in place, feels like a game reborn. This is every bit the experience we wanted back in 2020, a deep and addictive action RPG that can now sit alongside The Witcher 3 as one of the greats."

Push Square (9/10)

"Phantom Liberty is often Cyberpunk 2077 at its very best. A gripping narrative complete with great characters adds another dimension to the open world RPG, while the main mission and side quest design remains top notch throughout. It's a tremendous expansion that delivers a truly memorable experience."

Windows Central (4.5/5)

"V trades in gang wars and taking on corporations for a trust-no-one thriller in Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty. A new location and cast of characters flesh out a story that's arguably far more compelling than that of the original game, while the accompanying free update rebalances several systems in a meaningful way."

Game Informer (8.5/10)

"Phantom Liberty succeeds as another 20 hours of great adventure in Night City and, coupled with Cyberpunk 2077’s new Update 2.0, a culmination of three years of hard work."

TheGamer (4/5)

"It still isn't an all-time great RPG, but there are fewer hiccups keeping you from enjoying the many things it succeeds at. Phantom Liberty is good, but 2.0 is the rising tide that lifts all boats."

Video Games Chronicle (4/5)

"Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty is a pulpy spy thriller that we enjoyed massively. Excellent main missions are complemented by a revolutionary 2.0 update that makes this expansion worthy of giving the game a second chance."

Attack Of The Fanboy (3.5/5)

"Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty is enjoyable, but for a next-gen only expansion debuting alongside a complete rework of the game’s RPG mechanics, it feels undercooked. It’s completely outshined by the free 2.0 update, and you might just be better off replaying the base game with the new changes instead of jumping straight into Phantom Liberty."

It's an absolutely fantastic start for Cyberpunk 2077's big new update and Phantom Liberty expansion, with the reviews expected to sit around the 85-90 mark on Metacritic when all's said and done. What a turnaround for this game!
