Star Wars Jedi Sequel Seemingly In The Works At Respawn Entertainment

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor has largely impressed franchise fans despite some technical difficulties around launch, and the team now seems to be moving full steam ahead on a sequel. In recent days a new job listing has been spotted at developer Respawn Entertainment, and the description all-but-confirms the team's plans to work on more Star Wars Jedi.

The EA-owned team is hiring a 'Principal Game Writer' for Star Wars Jedi, with Respawn hoping the right candidate can "help us create an incredible Star Wars experience for our players in a fun, third-person action-adventure setting." Here's a bit more info from the listing:

Principal Game Writer (Star Wars Jedi)

"We’re looking for a highly skilled Principal Game Writer who will embrace our philosophy and share their hard-earned expertise to help us create an incredible Star Wars experience for our players in a fun, third-person action-adventure setting.

We’re picturing an avid gamer who is passionate about storytelling through interactive narratives. Under the direction of the Lead Writer, the Principal Game Writer will be responsible for writing dialogue, scenes, story treatments and supporting text for the game."

Back in a 2021 company earnings call, EA committed to the future of Star Wars Jedi - long before Survivor was formally announced. At the time, the team seemed confident in Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order turning into a long-term franchise, and that future seems to be panning out as planned.

Generally speaking, Respawn has lots of Star Wars on its plate right now. Before work had even wrapped up on Survivor, the team revealed that two other Star Wars games were also in development; a first-person shooter and a strategy game in a co-development capacity. Add in a Star Wars Jedi sequel and the team appears very busy with the franchise at the moment - we're curious to see where Star Wars Jedi goes next!
