Stalker 2 Won't Appear At The Xbox Games Showcase This Year

The developer behind the highly anticipated Stalker 2 (GSC Game World) has confirmed that the title unfortunately won't be making an appearance at the Xbox Games Showcase 2023 taking place this Sunday.

In response to a fan on Steam, a member of the GSC Game World team explained that the plan is to give "progressive updates" as the team would prefer to make "important announcements in the upcoming months".

"We usually do not announce or deny our participation in shows, but this one time we'll make an exception. S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 will miss the June online conferences preferring to make important announcements in the upcoming months.

Our plan is to give progressive updates on what we’re planning."

As things stand, Stalker 2 is still preparing for a release on Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S and Xbox Game Pass at some point later in 2023, but it looks like we're going to have to wait a little longer to find out exactly when that might be.

Despite the game's absence, we've still got plenty to look forward to at the Xbox Games Showcase 2023 this weekend, including an in-depth look at Starfield along with (hopefully) a glimpse at Fable, Hellblade 2, Avowed and more.
