Ubisoft games get cheap quickly. No interest in subbing to this. GamePass more than meets my needs in the subscription category.

20 games seems a little light for a sub, so as @el_pieablo said price is going to be a big factor. Obviously, new additions are going to be much slower than GP but I can see it being useful for co-op

No Way is it worth a sub on its own. Should include as part of game pass ultimate

I don't think this is worth it's own sub. Literally all of these games are baked into PS+'s offering at no extra price (similar to how Gamepass has EA's built in). Not promoting one service over another — love both — but just pointing out the value. If there were older games you couldn't get anywhere else or day and date new releases I'd feel different.

If it's part of gamepass i might try some of the games, if it's not i have too much to play already so not paying for another service. I had AC Valhalla from my brother for like 6 months and never even installed it so definitely not a big pull for me personally. Sure folks that love their games will find value in this.

Ubi should join EA and add those games to XGPU.

It’s a hard sell , many of these games are on game pass or on sale at 80% almost one week out of two , the asking price should be really low for me to think about adding this service .

I love Ubi games. That being said, I've played most of those so they wouldn't really get a sub off me. Imo I'd be happy for EA to be detached from XGP and have Ubi take their place, but that's just me.

Might be safe to assume that once this goes live, we will see less Ubi games getting some XGP love.

I already own everything from that list, which I'm interested in. Some multiple times, on account of them being given away at some point. So this is probably intended for the new user, which is fine.

@Echtzeit See, I haven't played Far Cry 6 or Watch Dogs 3. I heard that the former is too (is it?) woke? And the latter is too convoluted.

I mean, a year ago, when u announced this, you could have had me Ubisoft. But since then I've bought everything on that list I care about.

@Kaloudz it's kind of unintentionally woke, if that makes sense? Because you're constantly taking control of new NPC's, they vary those skins quite a bit.

Doesn't seem like a good deal. I own all the Assasin's Creed games and DLC, Most of the Far Cry games and Immortals (which is excellent). I got the disk of Far Cry 6 on for $12 on amazon during a sale. Most of these you can buy at almost 80% to 90% off throughout the year.

@el_pieablo FYI It's £12.99 a month on PC, so $5/month is likely way off. Could be less as there are less games, or perhaps Microsoft are subbing it a bit if you also have game pass, but unlikely to be that low.

It would have been worth it only if they included complete editions of Valhalla and Far Cry 6. All I see are old games I've played.

I probably wouldn't play most of these clone games even if they were free on GP. The only far cry I liked for years was primal and that's not on the list.
0 chance I would pay extra for any of that especially when GP already had a good list of up and coming games this year.

I think they're going to run into the same problem as EA. Their target audience is already going to own most of what they're interested in, making a sub worthless. I don't give it much time until it's included in Game Pass.

This is doomed for failure. No chance I would even consider a subscription service with those games. Anything more then $1 a month is too much for that lineup. LOL.

Wait and see if assassins Creed mirage drops in there day 1. It would be worth a single month sub here and there if you just want to burn through a game or two.

@Kaloudz watch dogs 3 was almost ok but it's kind of redundant, loses the focus of cyber crime the series is meant to be, replacing it with a military police state and then somehow becomes single mindedly focused on an organ harvesting plot where you're constantly in blood soaked torture chambers with bodies hanging from the ceiling. I kind of enjoyed the first half and then it's just weird and a different genre.

Biggest 3 problems for this

1. Ubisoft’s release schedule has significantly slowed. You used to get at least 1 AC game and probably 4 or 5 other AAA games per year, plus some smaller ones. They have cancelled a lot and AC is no longer Annual

2. A lot of people are Ubi’ed out. Too many similar games. There’s not enough variation

3. Game Pass offers better value and diversity for less than the PC Ubisoft+. Pricing will be key

@cburg Same here, I own almost all of what I like from Ubisoft, from OG Xbox till now, maybe at 5 extra I will give it a go, but not more.

And I have a feeling , that Microsoft is really gonna add a curated version Ubisoft+ to Gamepass Ultimate, and pay Ubisoft a lump sum per month, and on top of that based on enegagement per game.

Latest news i read, Ubisoft is really in trouble, delaying Skull and Bones once again, and probably coming out when I'm literally Skull and Bones , cancelling three unannounced games, and posting very poor sales.

So probably they really need a steady cashflow, so maybe Msft could provide that , and not charge us extra on GPU for it, so throw Ubisoft a bone, and on the other hand make look Gamepass an even more valuable service!

No point me Subscribing - I have ALL the Ubisoft games I would want to own/play anyway so see no point in subscribing for the few games I wouldn't play.

Ubisoft games tend to drop in costs quickly after launch. Within a month of releasing, I picked up FC6 for less than 'half' price which is another reason I won't subscribe.

The only way I'll have a Ubisoft+ subscription is the exact same way I subscribe to EA Play - via Game Pass Ultimate...

The only thing on this list that interests me is Uno. I remember playing it on xbox 360, everyone who had the webcam would constantly be showing off their junk. What a time to be alive.

There best bet is to charge $5 a month because $60 a year is way more money than I would normally give them a year. I probably buy one Ubisoft game (with heavy discount) once every 1-2 years and even then their limited Game Pass offering has kept me satiated.

Already played most of this crap, even if I hadn't it's not worth a subscription payment. Only way it's worthwhile is if it's part of gamepass and even then I probably wouldn't play any of them. This ***** is gonna bomb. It even makes ps+ look good

@Kaloudz Yeah. I mean I can't say WD3 is a BAD game specifically. It has ups and downs, has some cool ideas, some ideas that won't work, has some decent stealth play (it's as close to Splinter Cell as we'll get), and has a really well made city environment. But when you have a series and an entry loses the CENTRAL THEME the series is supposed to be based around it becomes a problem. It just stopped being about data privacy, corporate republics, and cybercrime, which is what it was supposed to be about, and became a Far Cry side story of a PMC police state and an underground human slaughter program, neither of which has to do with the cybercrime theme other than that you hack the PMC police state and mob's cameras and gadgets. It's more Crackdown + Far Cry + Evil Within than Watch Dogs after the first half of the game.

@NEStalgia Yeah then that's definitely not for me. Many people took issue with the first game's protagonist but I loved him. 2 was okay, but felt too gang-like for my tastes. If three is like you say, I'm glad I didn't get it in the sales lol.

This is getting almost as bad as streaming services.

@Kaloudz Yeah...I didn't complete it after a point. I didn't mind TOO much the Far Cry military theme vs the cyber theme, at first, but when it started becoming horror with flashlight lit missions with holding cages and tons of blood and torture rooms......no thanks.

I agree, the first one was really my favorite. People rag on it, but the lone wolf vigilante against the surveillance state theme was unique and resonated.

Whatever they are charging. It isn't worth it for a bunch of broken games.

@NEStalgia Did you ever manage to finish that side mission where you challenge the drunk? And you had to rotate each thumbstick and move them in different motions. That, was a killer. In the end I got my wife to hold half the controller with me 🤣

I agree though. The lone wolf part was what made it for me. I think that, and Dead Rising 3, were the only games I maxed out last gen.

Yeah, I guess they weren't happy with sales of WD1, but the concept, the art style, everything about it was kind of unique and could have been built on. All they needed to do for 2 was make it into the game the PS4 unveiling showcase showed the game was going to be before they stripped half of it away. Instead they turned it into a 2 kool 4 skool hipster game, which was also ok, but not really the same, and more generic pop culture, Ubi's specialty at that point. And I'd have been ok if they settled on that identity, but by 3 they forgot they were even making Watch Dogs and it seemed like 3 studios from 3 countries were making different games based on different concepts and then just made them into a single game. Which in hindsight is probably exactly what happened. I mean that grizzly, bloody mess really has no place in a game about cybercrime. It's like a high fantasy game where the high elves check their ipads for quest items. And I don't mean Star Ocean.

@NEStalgia Haha I see Star Ocean mentioned a lot on here. That, Blue Dragon, and (is it?) Forgotten Odyssey? I feel like I'm missing out on either really good games or really bad ones lol.

But yeah, like much of what you say, I totally agree. I remember the plot for the first game well. Literally, the only thing I remember about the second game, despite enjoying it at the time, is the mess Ubisoft made with female anatomy - and Xbox users getting banned for screenshotting 😅

@Kaloudz Star Ocean has mostly not been an XB series, but the new one is on both, and one of the old ones was a 360 timed exclusive back in the day.

It's a decidedly "B-movie" series from a relatively lower budget Japanese studio that basically only makes that series, but it's a very old series and if you're a fan, you're a fan. It goes back to the SNES, it was some devs from Bamco that worked on Tales of Phantasia that broke off and started a new company in the 90's. It feels and plays a lot like the Tales of games of their respective eras.

The new one, Divine Force is pretty good, looks and plays a lot like Tales of Arise. The final 1/3 of the game you can tell the budget fell out the bottom very clearly. Recycled generic hallways, you can tell there was content they couldn't include. But most of the game is solid.

Expect a Tales style action RPG that's a somewhat campy adventure marrying Star Trek and standard JRPG medieval fantasy, and every anime/JRPG trope unapologetically crammed in. These guys are clearly Trek fans, even the technobabble lines up

They've remastered a lot of the old series, but the games are definitely old. The "newest" remaster is the SNES entry, modernized with VAs. That's actually a solid game, similarly Star Trek meets medieval. Space ships and castles. The PS1/PS2 era games feel more dated, even in the good looking remaster, because that's just how games from that era aged. Though I have to say the one, is unintentionally funny at times with cutscenes reminding me of those low budget late 60's, early 70's sci-fis made with puppets and some bad VAs mixed with some big name VAs. You have Fred Tastichore in an exchange with what sounds like a night janitor at Square Enix USA they just dragged into the sound booth to record some lines and some janky puppet like animations. It's not supposed to be hilarious, but it really is because it fits the budget sci-fi motif.

The current hardware remasters are
Switch/PS4: First departure R: SNES remaster available on. Good game.

Last hope: X360 BC or remaster on PS4 - Good game, does feel like late PS2, funny janky puppet scenes.

Till the End of time PS4 remaster. Very dated ps2 game, feels like the jankier parts of FF7/8. Aged poorly but good/weird story.

Integrity and Faithlessness: PS4. Not well received....not the best game but more modern than last Hope and End of Time.

Divine Force: Brand new, pretty good, XSXS/PS5.

Blue Dragon and Lost Odyssey are Xbox exclusives. They're highly regarded as they were made by Mistwalker, I.E. Sakaguchi, the creator of FF and director of FF through 12 (I.E. before it went in the toilet when he quit ) so it's more or less the "real" FF games continuing.

@Kaloudz imo no, EA has some huge games releasing soon. With Dead Space and Jedi Survivor. Plus we already have AC Origins/ Odyssey. Far Cry 5, R6, and more already on Gamepass. EA Play is more suitable for GP because EA isn't as willing to put their games on subscription services unlike Ubisoft. ATM that may change depending on how successful Ubisoft+ is.

@NEStalgia This is going to sound sooooo daft, but my little brother had a Star Ocean game on Xbox 360. I remember being immediately attracted to the box art. It was shiny, cool looking, and fantasy-like. Ever since, I've always double glanced at any Star Ocean game on the Xbox store. Never committed, mind, but it's one of the few box arts that has ever had that affect. The only other time that's ever happened was Kingdom Hearts. THAT was a lush cover. That said, in regards to Star Ocean, exactly as you say (low budget-like) , it just never seemed to grab me when looking at trailers or screens.

As for Blue Dragon, I've come SO close to picking that up when it's been very low in price, but it looks hella grainy in the Xbox screens. I also have to be careful on what I play in the fantasy genre as the flashing during battles tends to trigger my seizures 😅

Lost Odyssey I know nothing about, other than people praising it as the best of the 360 offerings.

Assassin's Creed Valhalla left ps plus in December, Far cry 6 isn't even on PS Plus. The only ones worth having have been on Gamepass a long time.

@Sifi Oops, you’re right. Overlooked FC6 and didn’t know Valhalla already left. Regardless, the vast majority are on PS+ and a smaller but still robust selection are on Gamepass. I still stand by my original point about it not being worth paying more.

considering i own almost all of those games from previous sales, theres no need to sub for this... litterally faster to list the games i dont own from them no joke i own them all except 3 scott pilgrim(which i may own on the ps4) riders republic(no interest at all) ghost recon(not my cup of tea) every other game i have bought digitally during their huge sales they have had in the past years.

I know it's a bit of a stretch, but the only way I'd check this out, since I own a lot of those games, is if somehow Microsoft and Nintendo can work out another deal that would let us play Mario+rabbits since Ubisoft makes those.

@Kaloudz I only played Watch Dogs 2 a bit and it's an alright game, not good enough that I NEED to play the third part.

As for Far Cry 6, I'm just having fun with the gameplay. It controls better than any Far Cry before due to some smaller accessibility features and it's just plain fun. The only caveat for me is, I haven't found a good way to play stealthy, like you could in previous titles. But maybe I'm just too dumb.

And on the topic of being woke I can't really say anything about that (because I have no idea what that actually means . Most characters are pretty crazy and the story is fine. Not better or worse than then previous games. For me, these only act as a frame anyways and are not the defining parts of this franchise.

@Echtzeit Ah smashing! So it's still Far Cry as we know and love it? I enjoyed 5 the most, then 3, then 4, but I'm assuming that if I enjoyed those, then 6 will be just as welcome?

Shame about the stealth. I rely heavily on that for clearing out the outposts and such 😂 I can't really clear anything (in any FPS) without a bit of sneaky stealth lol.

To me it is, yeah. I've played through every Far Cry so far and they are all basically the same game the devs iterate on Except for Primal maybe, which I enjoyed tremendously. I which they would do a Primal 2 with the survival and tribe aspects more involved.

Same, I usually try to clear the outposts without being seen. Or at least turn off that figgin alarm before starting to shoot. But for some reason I haven't figured it out in 6 yet. I'm sure it's possible, it just feels like you have to be extra sneaky this time around...

@Echtzeit Ohh I loved Primal. Primal 2, based in some other part of history, would be amazing. I would buy that in a flash. I'm quite surprised they haven't done anything like that since to be honest.

Yeah lmao!! That's what I do. Take out those speakers so that they can't call for back up. Back up in Far Cry is like a squadron of Rambo's 😂 I'll have to pick up 6 at some point then. Only reason I didn't is because of how many bad things I'd heard about it.
