Xbox Game Pass players have been enjoying Vampire Survivors a lot so far, especially since the game arrived on console platforms after a brief period as a PC-exclusive. Poncle's addictive bullet hell shooter is a really good time, then, and its brand new DLC seems to be impressing players as well.

Some early impressions of the ridiculously cheap add-on (it's literally $2) are starting to hit the web, from critics and fans alike. Here are a few of those early opinions:

The Gamer

"The array of new monsters, featuring the bizarre Mikoshi-nyudo, Raiju, and Kamaitachi, to name a few, are also fresh. Some of the boss fights, which I won’t spoil here, are gigantic and weird and brand-new for Vampire Survivors. The sprites for the new characters are sharp, and their mechanics for the weapons are always fun—probably the best part of Survivors, after all."

Ars Technica

"Even at its most repetitive, the inherent appeal of clearing screens full of enemies in ever-more-bombastic ways remains. All that said, this kind of paid DLC feels like a temporary patch on a game whose depths are finally starting to feel largely plumbed, at least for this reviewer.

For now, though, Legacy of the Moonspell provides a good, cheap excuse to revisit Vampire Survivors. That's true no matter how much time you've already put into this incredibly addictive game."

Over on the game's Reddit page, fans have been been posting some early impressions as well. The recurring theme is that, at $2, this is a great addition for anyone who already digs what Vampire Survivors has to offer.

As we already mentioned, Vampire Survivors is included for free with Xbox Game Pass, while the Legacy of the Moonspell DLC is out now as a $1.99 add-on (you even save a bit extra as a Game Pass member!). If you've not yet tried out the main game, here are our extremely positive thoughts:
