PSA: The Witcher 3 Is Dirt Cheap On Xbox One Prior To Free Next-Gen Upgrade

Polish developer CD Projekt RED has finally shown us some of what The Witcher 3 Next-Gen has to offer, with more details set to trickle out over the next few weeks prior to launch. CDPR's upgrade is free for existing owners of the last-gen version, and the good news is that if you don't yet own The Witcher 3, it's dirt cheap right now on Xbox.

Both the standard and GOTY editions of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt are currently discounted on the Xbox Store as part of the Xbox Black Friday 2022 sale. The base game is £4.99 / $7.99, while the Game of the Year Edition is only a tad more expensive at £6.99 / $9.99. Here are the direct store links for both versions:

If you need any more reasoning to grab the GOTY copy besides the tiny price difference, the developer has confirmed that only DLC owners will get access to the DLC on the next-gen version. So, if you own the base game you'll get the base game upgrade, but if you own the DLC packs as well — or the GOTY edition of course — all of that content will carry over to a new Complete Edition of The Witcher 3 on Xbox Series X|S.

The Witcher 3's free next-gen upgrade finally arrives on current-gen Xbox platforms in a few short weeks on December 14th. We can't wait to experience this epic adventure all over again very soon!
