A New Single-Player Witcher Card Game Is Coming In 2022

Back in 2018, the popular Witcher card game, Gwent, got its own standalone title in the form of The Witcher Tales: Thronebreaker. Now, the team is hard at work on a follow up, which will be single-player focused and is set to launch this year.

Project Golden Nekker is the game's current working name, as revealed by IGN. Development on more Gwent content has been teased for some time, although this is the first time it's been revealed as a full standalone game.

It looks like story and single-player are huge focuses for the development team too, which will be welcome news to many. Here's what Gwent Comms Lead Paweł Burza had to say on the project:

It’s not another Witcher Tales [game] but something different [...] We’re aiming to provide a captivating single-player for players who prefer it over competitive multiplayer Gwent.

Although some concept art for the upcoming Gwent project had been released, IGN revealed one new piece; 'The Barbarian', featured front and centre here:
